03-06 OEM Dry Carbon Trunk
Hi guys,
I own a Composite Company and we deal mostly with aftermarket Subaru parts, Hoods, Trunks, and Doors. However, during our last production run we decided to do a Evo Trunk Lid in Dry Carbon. We have been focused on Subarus recently and I never got around to selling this trunk lid. So here is it...
Normally our Dry Carbon Subaru Trunks go for 1599-1699.
Since this was a prototype and we only did the one I'd be willing to let it go to a local for 1300.
It is 100% Dry Carbon on the inside and out. No fiberglass. It weighs in at only 8.1 lbs! The keyhole will come undrilled.
On to the pics...
Thanks
Phil

Sure,
Dry Carbon refers to the layup process. Dry Carbon has resin pre impregnated into it, i.e. "dry." From there, it heads to an autoclave where it is heated and pressurized. The heat activates the resin. The advantage with Pre-preg is it allows you to use the precise amount of resin, making sure you don't have excess resin (weight).
Seibon's Carbon is a Wet lay up where resin is applied manually to the Carbon. Also Seibon uses one layer of Carbon on the outside for looks, and the rest is fiberglass which is significantly less expensive.
This trunk is 100% Dry Carbon on the inside frame and outside which means the lightest and strongest trunk.
This trunk weighs only 8 pounds where as a Seibon Wet Carbon trunk will weigh about 12.
