Okay, so the title is a bit misleading... but still, this is an EPIC fail.

@ evoliam, not in this section it isn't a repost. Thanks for posting, Scott.

Oh my sweet jesus, that is nasty. It almost looks like the front wheels turned (not sure what the driver was doing) but all around epic strap fail!

I guess at the last dyno day there was a car that was burning through straps and almost had a couple similar episodes. Of course it was right after I left, too!

A few dyno days ago there was some guy up on the dyno with his Audi and he turned to say something to Aaron or Bob with his hand on the wheel and what do you know, his hand moved with his head. I guess he must not have had much experience in one of them auto-mo-beels??? I've only known one other dumbass (my aunt) that would steer where they looked.

That phenomenon is something we specifically address with our students at the Rally School. Both in terms of holding a line AND in terms of "crashing gracefully"

The car will naturally go WHERE YOU LOOK. So, DO NOT look at the big tree, rock or cliff.

Haha I saw this post somewhere, and he was running an open dump. The dump was right onto the nylon straps used to hold it on the dyno... do the math ;D

This is the worst thing about having your car dyno'ed... the place doing it makes you sign a release, so they hold zero liability, even though they are the ones making sure the car is secured.

All about the driver when the situation happens but I understand where you are coming from.

This is why you have ER/DO dyno your car, you will get a killer tune and have it done safely.
