Trackdays w. Audi Club NW

Well this last post by Dallas J go me thinking, how can we get a bunch of guys with Evo's who actually want to use the car for what its meant for to go to PIR, Pacific Raceways for a lapping day.
I just got an Email from the V.P. of Audi Club NW saying that ANYONE is welcome to participate in their events (even EVO owners) as long a you are a member of NW Audi Club.
Also the vehicle/driver requirements are not as bad as some other clubs (chough prosha) excuseme.
Basically you need to have some form of Lapping day experience and when you attend a lapping day your first time you will have a instructor assess your track driving skills and place you in a run group.
I will be joining Audi Club NW to maximize my track time this year and I hope some of you other NWEvo m members will do the same.

P.S. Their first event will be on the 27th of Feb and I plan on attending.

So how much are the Audi HPDEs?

I've been doing them with Cascade Car Club, but always open to other opportunities.

True but for me $50 dollars to join a friendly layed back club is not a bad deal and I really want to go racing asap its been over a year for me since I was building my new set up last year.

So how much are the Audi HPDEs?

The one day price of $225 includes lunch and plenty of track time. The one day Instructor price is $75.

Meh, I'll stick with Cascade. $180 for HPDE or $200 with instructor. No membership fee. But if you do their membership, you get $10 off each time.

Either way there are multiple options for multiple tracks. I know Jared's been hitting up Pacific pretty hard last year.

I like PIR more than Pacific, but I live a lot closer to Pacific :P

+1

Also, do they require a instructor for your first time with each group, or just the first time regardless of group?

If you check the link it explains it but as far as I can gather if you are new to the club you have an istructor ride 1-2 laps with you, he assesses your skill and puts you in one of the run groups. Then you are free to go on the track.

I emailed the even coordinator for the event on the 27th of Feb to get a clear answer and will post whenever I get a reply.

I would skip simply because they want you to join Audi Club of America. You still have Alfa, Cascade, Pro Drive, IRDC, etc. that just let you run with a fee. I really miss Team Continental.....what a great group of racers.

I work around 6-8 months out of the year in the Gulf of Mexico so if I can get any track days in during the 4 months I am home it is well worth the $50 membership fee.
I will still go to any other club I just really want to go racing this time when I come home.

Eric that would be sweet if you could bring your Evo, will it be ready?
If not I would definately have to take you for a spin.

Email from event coordinator.

You would register for the $225 registration along with the $44 membership. We would assess your history and vehicle for our run group assignments and provide an instructor for as long as that instructor finds is necessary. There is no fee for this, it is simply our normal way of doing business.

Hope to see you out there.

The Audi guys are good. Last time I was at Brimerton with them they even had hot coffee available.

Porsche requires a shop car inspection as does BMW, one of them wanted a shop inspection before each event. (I don't mind the inspection, it was just a hassle getting me, the car and a shop at the same time.)

Jid2 mentioned that Cascade was good and inexpensive.

The car clubs will always want to get you appraised before they let you out on a track like PR. And letting a coach take you out isn't a bad idea anyway. For that matter any event organization is going to want to know your driving style. For their safety and yours.

ORP and Spokane are great tracks too. Star for ORP and Adare at Spokane, that I know of.
