Trackday Son of Quattrofest

Trackday Son of Quattrofest
Last week I attended Son of Quattrofest on Sunday with Audi club down in Portland International Raceway.
Well it all started the Friday 3 days before the event I began installing my turbo kit and preparing the car for the track at 6 in the evening to 7 in the morning.
I then proceeded to head to Vancouver to have Lucas tune my car and the results were stunning, you can check out my dyno post with the new HTA 35R here.

On Sunday morning the track was nice and dry and everything was in place.
I dialed down the boost to 25 psi for track duty since this was the first time I have taken my new 500+hp Long Rod 2.0 to the track and it performed flawlessly.
The speed of PIR is insane, when it was dry I was able to get the car up to 150mph on the front straight, braking was taken care of by CL6E race pads and DBA5000 rotors which also performed flawlessly.
Later on in the day it did rain and in a way that made it more fun trying to tame my car on a wet track.
Since it was my first time out with Audi Club they placed me as a advanced novice and placed an Audi club instructor in the car with me to asses my skills for the day, that was actually a really good experience because he had allot more experienced than me and helped me quickly learn the correct lines to take in several of the corners. There was one big O-ISH moment on turn 4 were suddenly the rear end might have hit some oil and just kicked out, Immediately I turned the steering wheel to opposite lock and just stated tapping the gas pedal and I ended up doing the Longest evo drift I have ever preformed all the way around turn 4.
The day ended well with me being able to drive my evo home and having had a great experience as well as being checked off for Driving in the Intermediate group next time.
I want to Give a big thanks to Lucas at English Racing for doing a great job tuning my car, ETS for putting a great turbo kit together for me. Francis for rolling down to Portland with me on Thursday to pick up all my parts: turbo kit, wheels, lugs.

what wheel tire setup?
No brake ducts?
No brake ducts?
If you look closely at the second picture you can see the brake duct in my front bumper.
I will say this Falken Azenith is a good tire but not so good in the wet.
Will be moving on to Hankook S3 here real soon.

Thanks guys, I have given (evo X)Eric and Francis a ride with the new set up and I believe they are impressed, if anyone else wants to go for a ride when I get back you are welcome to.
Fine I generally shifted around 8000-8500 RPM felt great, I run Redline Shockproof in in my Evo and it works great once warm.
I did have one interesting experience doing around 140mph on the front straight shifting hard into 5th were I lost all feeling to the shifter.
My shift linkage on the transmission actually came undone from the rubber bushings. I just popped it back on and slowed my shifting down a little.
Other than that no problems for the rest of the day.
How did your transmission shift during the session?

Sux I didnt make it with you there as planned.
Any issues with brake overheating going through 140mph into turn 4?
I have oem rotors and HPS hawk which would probably not work well.

I had HPS's on my golf R32 at bremerton for a Lapping day and that did not work out so good. Good street pad/Horrible Track pad.
Its expensive to spend 1k on a set of rotors and pads just for the track but if you are going to run with big HP you need them. I would not want to boil my brakes at the end of the front straight and find out I have no brake pedal.
On I side note though I plan on making a post for the Upcoming Autox event at Sanderson Field on the 27th of march. Visit www.wwscc.org for info.
