o2 dump gasket?

Can I use the own style o2 gasket or do I have to get a divorced gasket?

- if you used the oem style before with a dump, did u have to apply any type of sealent?

Either dont use a gasket at all (but make sure both o2 and turbo are true/flat). Or use a gasket like the one in this pic - If you use the oem gasket you'll be leaking out your dump tube.

JR, when we installed Daniels we used the stock gasket with a bit of high temp red sealant and it doesnt leak at all through the dump tube.

I have used the high temp copper gasket spray stuff you can buy at any auto parts store a couple times and it worked well, no leaks. Just spray a thick coating on the 02 flange. I will be using this stuff on my Toxicfab 02 dump when my turbo comes in and I put it back together.

Thats correct if you don't use a gasket. These guys are talking about using the OEM gasket and putting a dab of silicone to make the gasket "divorced". There's a right way and a wrong way to do anything and improvising usually doesn't go in the same sentence as reliable.

I guess I should have said that in my post...haha...To use the copper gasket spray instead of the stock gasket with silicone...Using silicone sounds ghetto, I would definitely not do that...3 yrs ago I used the stock gasket with my EPM 02 dump...man I was pissed, then finally pulled it off after 500 miles and used the spray stuff...

I agree and maybe I should have rethought my original response before typing. Just because we used RTV doesnt mean I recommend it. We were in a bind with the turbo already being dropped and being too late with stores closed.

Dan and I tried looking for that stuff with no success in Lacey and thats the only reason why we used the RTV. Where did you find that stuff anyways?

Ok with all due respect and smart *** sarcasm completely not intended, you're beating a dead horse and we get the point. We didn't have a divorced gasket to use and couldn't find the copper spray. I also forgot to mention we used the original OEM gasket and simply used a thin layer all around with a bit inbetween the primary exhaust and dump tube gap. As mentioned, its my fault I didnt clarify my earliest response in stating its not the correct way and that I don't recommend it, my fault. Ask anyone who knows me, my car, or I help work on their cars, I don't half *** stuff. Again, my fault for not clarifying displeasure in having to use the RTV in our bind at the time.

Bottom line, get the gasket and do it right JR.
