Anyone know anything about Ishii Motor Industries?

Actually, I can speak from personal experience abouit Ishii Motor Industries now, I ended up choosing them to do my spring install.
After visiting several shops, I came back to this one based on the fact that the staff there is very personable and they have a reputation for doing good work.
With that said, based on my personal experience they were great to work with, professional and did a great job on my springs. When I got my car back they had even gotten it an alignment and washed the car for me.
I was really pleased with the work, and I have to be say a bit surprised that they called me the next day to see if I wanted to come hang out at the shop and meet a friend of theirs with an Evo. I ended up hanging out for a couple hours with everyone and met a few other people who get work done there. One of those guys happens to be the guy Justin that I invited to the meet this weekend with the white X.
Anyways, two thumbs up review for Ishii Motor Works. I'll be choosing them for all my car needs for the time being based on my experience with them.

So would you recommend going there to get a tune as opposed to driving down from the Seattle area to English Racing? I want to get a tune later on, but it is difficult to make it down there on a weekday, looks like Ishii is open on saturdays

I know he's supposedly good at tuning Supras, but I don't know how successful he would be at tuning an Evo. I'm considering inquiring about it though. At the very least, I would recommend dropping by his shop and saying hi.

If he can tune a Supra he can tune an Evo. When it comes down to it...tuning a turbocharged 4 stroke engine that runs on 92 or E85 requires the same amount of knowledge whether it's in a toyota or it's in an Evo.

again, I'm not saying the guys at Ishii aren't capable of this, but in my opinion, if there's an expert for your platform remotely close, go to the expert (English)

If someone is good at tuning, they should come to the same result as another competent tuner... but it may take more time if the tuner isn't familiar with the tuning software.
aaron could tune your car perfectly without every actually being in it. He's got soo much experience using Ecuflash and tuning Evo's it's a simple equation for him. That's not to say that steve cant tune it, AND tune it well. Mivec is a variable to tune, and the Evo wasn't the first car to come with VVT nor will it be the last. After all the 2JZ-GE has VVT....and the RB26DETT he does custom installs with and tunes... also has VVT.
I'm 100% sure Steve is competent and capable of tuning an Evo 9 on the dyno and do it well.

I get what you're saying, and I agree with you, but if the choice is between 2 good tuners and one happens to specialize in the car I drive, to me the choice is pretty simple...
just for the record, I'm in no way trying to keep anyone from going to Ishii nor am I saying they're not capable of a great tune, I was just expressing my opinion
