Ok, dropped my X, making a clanking noise..

So I just dropped my car, using the Tien S Tech. I am driving down the road and start to hear clanging from the rear, not consistent either like when I hit bumps, just kind of random, but obviously only when the car is in motion. My question is, with these springs, anyone know if the bump stops need to be cut or can they remain stock? I know we cut them, but just wondering if we should have left them? Any experience with this or suggestions, would be appreciated.

Ricky

is it a clunking noise or does it sound like metal on metal? You would be able to tell if it was the bump stops or not!

My first comment (based from past experience) would be to check the torque of the lug nuts.

Also, the bump stops themselves shouldnt make much (any) noise.

if you cut the bump stops too much it may be the problem. does it sound like an expensive clunk, or a cheap "meh don't need to worry about it" clunk? lmao j/p.

most likely it's your car hitting bump stops.

I had the same springs on my 9, and I did cut the bump stops also. No noise from the back. Depends on the noise, springs might be twisted slightly.

Something didn't get tightened back up. It wouldn't be the bumpstops unless it only happened when you hit bumps hard enough to compress the springs quite a bit. Put your car on stands, remove the wheels, and wiggle everything.
