Who's got an ETS v2 exhaust around here?

I'm on the fence on whether to get the ETS v2 or v2 quiet catback.

What kind of volume difference are we talking about here? I've looked at comparision videos, but there is no way to tell how loud things get.

I've heard the quiet one in person, but not the non quiet version.

The ETS website says the quiet is a "3" in terms of volume while the regular v2 is a "6". I don't know what that means in terms of "annoymeter" and "policeometer" =)

Dont worry about the loud one. Police on the eastside are super nice and will want to hear you rev up as long as it sounds good.

ok thanks guys.

On the other end of the spectrum, what are your thoughts on cabin noise? For example how loud would i have to turn up the stereo to compensate the loudness of a normal v2? Can you have a conversation without having to yell over it?

Thanks.

If you're worried about cabin noise. I'm sorry to say but ETS is not for you. Just giving you my 2 cents so you don't have to go ahead and buy your exhausts twice. I run ETS everything, it makes power. Igor runs an ETS V2 quiet on his X MR with an additional resonator welded in. It's still fairly loud, but better than the standard V2.

sweet, forum just ate my post.

let me try that again.

I'm not worried about cabin noise. I just want a realistic gauge of what to expect. Alot of people call the music I like noise too, its all in the eye of the beholder (metal). I just want to know if I can talk to my wife while on the freeway.

The loudest car i ever owned was my first pos ride a 79 camaro without a muffler... now that thing was loud.

I met Igor at a couple meets... He demonstrated his v2 quiet for me at the drift event in Kent, it sounded nice. Since that is my point of reference how much more volume are we looking at for the regular V2, thats all I want to know.

Its good to know the cops wont harass me one way or the other but will my neighbors get out pitchforks and burn the house down?

It's hard to say what's tolerable and what's not. Everyone has a different opinion. Just FYI, a X MR with a standard V2 and then going to a V2 quiet lost about close to 15 to 20 wheel horse. I would take that 20 horse any day over quiet.

I'm not worried about how loud it is, I'm trying to get a realistic picture of it.

In that case, I would get the extreme.

But seriously, if you are between those two get the V2 quiet. Tony and I drove Igor's car down to English racing from my house. It droned enough on the freeway with that version, and he has an extra resonator.

It's loud. You can talk to your wife driving down the freeway, but at a little more than normal conversational tone.

Personally I like the sound and noise level, but it will be more than noticeable in the cabin.

Hope that helps.

Igors car is pure sex. Not a big fan of dual exhausts on X's, but thats a nice exhaust (especially sound wise).

If really want to know, go straight to the source. ETS has great customer service, and I'm sure Michael would be more than happy to help. You can expect an honest answer from him too.

You can PM him here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/pr...=newpm&u=62952

Be sure to post back a vid of it if you get it!
