Here's the latest video of a small creek that overflowed from yesterday's downpour, not too far from us. (Taken from a quadcopter.)

It just happened to capture a policeman trapped in his SUV in the middle of a flooded road (@ 4:00 mark) The officer was eventually rescued by heli.

(PS: I did not take this video)

No kidding..
Be safe down there!

I'm thinking about getting one of these (or two - auto inflate life vests) to have in our vehicle, just in case..

Along with a few of these to attach to the vests >

For all our members and friends in Florida, please make sure you prepare and have some backup supplies (both at home And in your vehicle) BEFORE typhoon Erika makes landfall.

Three to 4 inches of rain in a hour at one location - is not something to dismiss - it's no joke.

Be safe out there yall.

Bottled water, a few granola bars, jumper cables and booster box, extra ammo for my .380, a large-bar, two flashlights, work gloves, winter gloves, jacket and hoodie, ratchet set, screwdriver set.

I'd like to add a towing kit. Not for me but because I will stop and help someone in the bad weather. I bet I could pull a civic lol

I'm debating a bull bar for the front but only if I can mount a winch and big lights to it. I like to go out in the boonies even though I'm only fwd.

Guys, That's a whole lot of typing...
a simple photo of all that stuff would have sufficed.

So I had to look it up - the disance for that kind of trek >4,300 miles...

Okay, that's not too bad on motorbikes (or in a vehicle) THEN I saw these folks - who actually doing that (thru the Sahara desert) on 10-speeds bicycles!!!

What on earth are they thinking!?

I've pulled an Altima out of a snow bank/shallow ditch pretty effortlessly, but i have 4WD.

Edit: hitch + D-ring adapter + tow strap = very quick and easy "extractions"

i got my little jump starter yesterday - its smaller (but thicker) than my cell phone!

came with mini & micro USB and old Apple & Lightning connectors for charging gadgets and phones. also, a little zip-up case to hold everything, which i was not expecting.

very cool.

I like to think I'm Mostly prepared for anything, but this is insane!

Was this fool ASLEEP when this fire tsunami torched his neighborhood/town...
Why was he just now leaving?

Looks like he's driving INTO more fire!
