installing a hitch
Does anyone have tried installing a hitch on their Outlander Sport? I'm planning to buy the Draw Tite class II hitch at 4WO (Click here for their website). I will just use the hitch for my bike rack and may be haul a jet ski once in awhile. How difficult is it to install the hitch and wiring? Any tips would be much appreciated.

Lost count how many hours all this assembly took me!
Don't even bother reading the instructions, they're worthless. Confused the crap out of me. I looked at the bolt holes on the hitch, then I looked at my frame rails and knew exactly where everything was suppose to go. There's only 6 bolts, so you can't really mess up. I did forget to put in the spacer plate though... but I don't see what's the point of it, because you don't really need it. Also my vehicle didn't come with a tow hook?!

Now I just need to find a cable lock that's long enough to go through all the bikes and skinny enough to go through the space in hitch next to the receiver

Curt hitch is WAY simple to install, great price, and a quality product.
It's got good instructions and can be done in about 1/2hr.
perfect for a bike or luggage rack.

The hitch installation can go much smoother if you had an extra pair of hands.
But, if you don't have someone to help - try using a floor jack to help hold it in place while you maneuver it into alignment with the mounting holes of the chassis.. (especially the driver side. The space is very tight on that side.)
And, use some Anti-siege on those threads (it can get quite rusty down there.)
