I think you've stated quite enough on this topic. This however America and you are free to put on what ever hitch accessory you feel entitled too, run it when ever you want and use it for what it IS or YOU intend it to do.

AWCWD: This is a hitch accessory thread. stay on topic and contribute or make a hitch safety blog. Not being mean, just serious. I'm not intending to hurt your feelings or start an international educational internet courtesy dispute, but really,,,,,, it's a freakin hitch attachment. YOU don't want to use one, don't. mRVR wants to, he can and will.

Now,,, lets talk texting and driving.

I already removed a post earlier, hopefully that will be the end of it. We're all friends here, and I welcome people stating their opinions. When it divulges into "bickering," however, it contributes nothing.

To be abundantly clear: I'm not stating the opinions above are "bickering." I'm saying if the discussion does divulge into bickering, the posts will be removed.

Burtonrider, Krakker,
You are both right. I have already removed my comments as they were not relevant to the original thread. Thanks for pointing it out.

To AWCAWD, Krakker, Burtonrider, and anyone else reading this thread in the future -

I know better and should have refrained from pushing my concerns.
My apologies for allowing my personal emotions/worries to derail this thread.

Absolutely.

And, I was not referring, intending or implying for anyone to go all Mad Max: Fury Road. Respect & be safe everyone.

So, we got our Outlander this week. Looking to add a hitch eventually. Did they change something with the 2015 OS frame?? I see a lot of hitches where the year compatibility ends with 2014. It could just be an oversight, but I'd hate to buy something only to find out it won't work.

Off topic question here. What size of rim and tires are these on the OS?

a custom Vespa??

Yeah, I saw that and really contemplated on making one myself.

$50 was a tad steep for a hole cover...

Looks like the 2016 Outlander 2.4L with CVT can add a tow package. and since we read that the OS 2.4 and the Outlander 2.4 have the same CVT i can assume that we can add a hitch without a problem.

what do you think?

All depends what Class hitch they are giving you with that package.

Price is a little steep.. (But, what do you expect from a dealer?)
- You can get a Class III hitch with wiring for ~ $200 if you shop around. Then DIY install it yourself (with basic tools)

We have folks here that's towed some "small" things with the 2011 2.0L & CVT without any issues. See Link >
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ou...r-sport-2.html

So, I'd suspect you can expect the same with the '16 2.4L & CVT.

so question, mits doesnt recommend towing with the os, think by adding a hitch would void any waranty related drivetrain issues because you tow with it? m looking at getting a 5x8 enclosed trailer for rc hobby and dont want to void my warrant.......
