Install used factory NAV unit into OS with a reg radio

Id like to install a used NAV unit from a 2014 Outlander into my 2015 Outlander Sport SE that has the touch screen but no NAV. Can this be done and does the used factory NAV unit need to be unlocked some how before its moved? I realize I probably need the kit from Mitsubishi but I dont want to buy this thing if its locked with no way to unlock it.

Are they actually the same part? IIRC there are different models of screens and it may or may not fit.

an aftermarket unit would be much better, but maybe more involved of an install.
consider that even the newest map update data is 1-2 years old.
an Android Auto or Carplay unit would have many more features and always updated maps.
