Galaxy Note 4 and bluetooth

My son just bought a 2015 Outlander Sport with a regular radio. He cannot connect his Note 4 and the dealership has been of no help. Is there anyone on this forum that has successfully connected that particular phone with their car bluetooth?

I am using a Note 4 Edge on mine without any issue, steaming and phone call. What seems to be the problem? It the phone not seeing the Car? Have you tried another phone?

The dealership managed to connect other phones to his bluetooth but not his Galaxy Note 4. He has tried the app "Bluetooth Auto Connect" with no results. I'm thinking it is a problem with his phone and not his car.

Really? Did not know that. No RCA either I guess? No AUX input at all?? My 2011 has RCA inputs in the console - my SiriusXM attaches that way.

Have you tried using the built in Bluetooth Manager on android and not an app? Cause i just used the bluetooth manager and it connect without fail.

i don't what what carrier the OP has, but the Verizon one is:
http://mitsubishi-en-us.visteonhands...&phone_id=4475
didn't try any others.

will the phone pair with any other Bluetooth devices - headphones, etc.? if anyone else he knows has a car with BT, see if it will pair with that car.

could just be a problem with his phone. My Galaxy Note 3 works fine.

HIS Note 4 is the problem. I wonder what BT protocol it is using? Or if it is an Android version issue.

mine worked on KitKat and now Lollipop, so it ain't that.

sometimes factory resetting the phone after a software upgrade (yes, its a PITA backing up and restoring everything) will fix weird issues ...

It also seems to depend on the carrier. The same phone on two diff. carriers will have two diff results. And my current phone is not even listed, yet it works fine. Go figure.

"Bluetooth problem is one of the common Note 4 Lollipop problems that some users are facing very frequently. Solutions to this problem are explained here.

Solution:

> On and off the Bluetooth connections and then try using it. For this head to settings > Bluetooth and then toggle it OFF, again make it ON. This might solve the issue, if not then go for the below method.

> Re-connect the Bluetooth connection by going to Bluetooth > forget device and then reconnect.

All the possible fixes for the problems are explained here. You can get rid of the problems by going through the above methods."

Hi! I had the same issue last week when i bought mine. After several tries, it always said "Connection failed". The solution i found is here:

Connect your cellphone to another Bluetooth device, IE a Bluetooth ear set. For me, it was my ELM327 Bluetooth adapter.

while it is still connected to your other BT device, retry to pair it with your radio Bluetooth.

for me, it worked instantly!

If you dont have another BT device, BT link your phone to another phone.

seems like if bluetooth is not communicating with anything, it wont work. while connected to something else, it works fine for the first pair.

Hope that will work for you!
