It's looks pretty good. I do agree though that more subtle will be better. I found that a minimum of (5) 1/2 step exposure levels even things out a little. I've even done 1/2 step shots from -5 to +5. Although my bracketing only allows for 3 shot bracketing so I have have change the base exposure level every 3 shots. Kinda annoying.
What software are you using? Photomatrix works pretty well. It even has batch processing for HDR timelapsing. I'm still playing with it, but it seems there's quite a bit you can do with it. I only have one picture here at work:

Yeah, it's difficult to get the right light setting, I'm figuring what to use in low and high light settings for the HDR setup. I'm using Luminance HDR, it's free but isn't really user friendly, since there isn't much after detailing. right now its working, but I'll go with something else when i get used to it.
