Tommy Makinen Evo 6 For Sale in WA!

I called the dealership that has it on consignment for a bit more information. The car was imported from Sweden by the owner. He found some loophole to get it registered, but it is licensed in the state of Washingtion with a transferrable title. They're expecting "Over 30k" for the car, but wouldn't give me an exact number. They plan on selling it thru Ebay, so interested buyers should bid from there on it. He wouldn't tell me the reserve price on the car either... Rather frustrating, because I'd consider it if the price were right.
If I were rich, cool, I'd love to have it for my collection, but for a 2000, they're expecting almost a new car price. Just not financially worth it for me
Even at $25k I'd still ponder it...

I wouldnt pay over that even though it is a deal/will be a deal no matter what. I am with you on paying new car price for a 2000 with 38k.
Makes a 6,000 dollar Evo 3 look all that much better.

Yeah the legality is the only thing that would concern me...never know if I am going to have to move down to CA so...Hope someone picks this up and enjoys it.

the cost is so high (and i think they are asking a fair amount) because of the cost to LEGALIZE the car in the states!
we all know how cheap these cars go for in canada and japan, but if it was so cheap and easy to register them over here, wouldn't we see more of them??
i think i remember the owner of the white 33 gtr cost him around 25k alone to motorex it and make it legal... not including the cost of the car

Well looks like it didn't sell, got up to $25k though. Remember that even if this is state legal, the feds can still seize the car. You theoretically could get one from Japan cheaper, for parts at least. Swap everything over to a Mirage chassis like I did. Then it would be 100% legal, state and federal.
If I have some free time maybe I'll take a look at the car in person, just to see what I'm missing on mine, haha.
