Not sure how he brought it into the US, but I don't see it as being federal legal. Regardless if it ends up being cheap enough I'll pick it up. Would be nice to have control over the only two TME's in WA.

I don't have any first hand knowledge of this car, but I do know they made some in LHD. A few years back I got to ride shotgun at PIR with someone who had one. His was not street legal, though that didn't stop him when he did drive it. Don't know if he still has it but I'll admit it's the reason I bought mine. Pretty sure this isn't his for two reasons: 1- his was red. 2- he said out of all of his cars he'd probably never get rid of it. After just a few hot laps can't say I would either.

The images provided make it look road legal (see the state issued license plate in the rear shot) in WA state. but it could be a grey market parts car that was brought over and installed onto a US compliant lancer chassis.

This is one owner original TME, which is verifieable via VIN posted (on Ebay).
As owner of a genuine TME RS2 LHD I know this is geunine car, and to trash over a world-recognized classic, 1 of 4 in USA, and one of a few LHD clean cars staill remaining in the world, is .....draw your own conclusions.
I will be surprised if they accept less than $40K for it, as RHD examples that are low KM and clean, with all history, are valued at 15,000 UK Pounds, which is $25K: and that is for RHD car which was much less exclusive than the few LHD made during the short run of total of 2500 Homologation cars.

Trust me, it's genuine.
The RSII was offered in LHD and was a popular model for European markets. The claim that it was imported from Sweden could be perfectly valid. The only issue however is that the car is still under 25 years old, making it illegal under federal law. State law is different so he was still able to get a 17-digit VIN.
Mine was a conversion and is state/federal legal. This is NOT a conversion and is only state legal.
