More EVO 9 Dyno Results - To Mivec or not to Mivec???

This EVO 9 has a 2.3 Stroker, FMIC, Boost controller, TBE, stock cat and thats it.
The dyno plots show the tune in conservative fashion with 110 octane fuel. Notice the area under the large curve.... Thats with the mivec turned OFF or cams set to 0. Interesting results. Same Boost Pressure, just cam timing is set at 0.

His BOV was leaking pretty good so boost spiked to 26.5 and ended at around 18.

Can you explain a little more on the curve w/ the MIVEC off? What was the difference?

The cylinder pressure that the Mivec helped create gave it a chance to increase the ability to develop torque earlier in the band along with maintaining pressure at key points in the band with dynamic changes to the cam profile on the intake side.
It held the torque longer thru the range but not in a static manner.
Now we have installed a 9 turbo on a eight this past week with a cam gear on the intake side. We will dyno it this week to show what the difference would be on a stock cammed engine and a static cam gear to show the difference in cylinder pressure. It should be interesting.

How did the Motec work for you with the mivec control? Or are the cams static?
