Really, the 2009 Ralliarts have smaller injectors than the 2010+ models??? This is the first time I've ever heard this claim mentioned before:confused:

So if you can find a compatible year ECU you can tune one and go back and forth as needed between the two. Did the guys you asked tell you if the dealership can tell if you are swapping between the two ECUs? My guess is that they can. But I am not sure. Thats why I am asking.
BTW thanks for all the good info. Much appreciated...

they can tell by matching the serial number on the ecu to the vin on the car. so you could easily keep the ecu that came with the car stock and not tune it and tune the extra ecu you buy and just swap it out with the untuned ecu that came with the car and i believe they shouldn be able to tell

I am wondering if anyone that works for Mitsu can confirm this? Has anyone done this?

100% incorrect information

figured it was once the guy tried to tune it with the asc on and still in normal and then tried to tell me the torque limiter wouldnt let me get over 265 ft/lbs.

Yeah, you might want to find someone else to work on your car from now on!

yea, guys great with regular 5spd and 6spds but hasnt taken the time to understand the sst i guess. 275awhp is a joke with having an x turbo. had 263 beforehand with my baby turbo lol back on subject though. i believe if you kept your stock ecu untuned and put it back in, then it shouldnt be noticeable. but if you have one thats not from your exact car. they will be able to tell from the different serial numbers

Question about the Cobb AP.

I do plan on modding my RA at some point, but would like to have a method of switching between different ECU flashes. I also want to try the GST basemap before I add the Boost Pill. Can I install the GST basemap onto the Cobb AP along with the preloaded and factory flashes? I'd rather do that then to buy a laptop, a Tactrix cable and whatnot.

Nope.

lancer0220 Feb 23, 2011 12:05 PM

decent powered netbook will run you $300-400, tactrix cable used $150-200 new. i picked mine up for 100 locally

its almost the same price as the cobb minus the fact that you dont get any additional maps other than whats free out there.

but the laptop can be used for other things than simply flashing the car, also with a laptop and a tactrix cable, any tuner whos tuned an evo x can probably tune you no problem.

also the used market for a tactrix 2.0 cable is pretty good selling it wouldnt be a problem.

who said you had to buy a laptop- Move your desktop to the garage Lolll jk, but in ur case a AP may be the better buy, but those with laptops i think the tactrix is a must have

BravoZero Feb 23, 2011 12:36 PM

How difficult would it be to even do a flash with a laptop and tactrix cable?

elmerfud54 Feb 23, 2011 02:21 PM

:lol:time to start your own thread. kinda hijacking this one id say
