IX RS Build

Traction!
At one time it was at 104deg.F!
Congrats Brian 'MOST WANTED'
I'm honored to be part of your accomplishments.
A 9.07@155mph on your very first pass with a new setup shows your great driving skills and dedication to get the job done. Then you improved with a 9.05@157mph.
I'm sorry I forgot to raise the rev limiter on the first pass. You were on the limiter for some time at the end of the first pass so it would have ran better.

1st pass i was getting used to launching with a staging brake in the car.. After that i was cutting 1.4's and 3.9 330ft but once i hit 3rd the car was spinning hard and i couldnt steer thru it.. It was just too much for the 24" slicks.. The car is solid and i was starting to feel comfortable in it just as the night ended.. Ill be back out in the next week to give it another shot on 26" slicks..

Guys I am posting at a friends place. I will be home in a few hours and give updates, pics, and vids. Please keep it clean. I have no idea what took place here, but please play nice. I do not want this thread deleted because of nonsense. Updates in a few hours with in car. All I will say right now is it is an 8.80 car at 160 no problem. I was short shifting at 7k to get comfortable...

Glad to see you got to make a run or two.
It wont be too long and you'll be blasting away 8's. Some nice power you put down especially in the hot weather. lol
Keep it up bro!

Congrats to all of you on the build, the tune, the driving and running some new best numbers.
The car is going 8's, no doubt about it. Maybe we'll all end up at the track on the same night next time!
If any of you need anything I am just a phone call away.

So there is no confusion, the car went 9.0@155 on the rev limiter. I did not run into any problems until last minute on the dyno btw. We grabbed what we had to make it to the track. Nothing fishy, nothing intentional. Shaun was nice enough to let me borrow his unit. I wasnt even offered the spare unit at the track to be clear. One thing people will learn about me is that I do what it takes to get the car down the track. No hard feelings, it s called racing... The car has been down for about 4 months and I wasnt going down without a fight. Now I will post about the night...

Wow, what an unbelievable day. We did encounter a few issues along the way(not just the ignition fyi), but everyone at AWD worked through them. The car did set a HP record for the Forced Performance 3586 of 804/589 whp. That was great to see and hear in person. It was over 100 degrees in the dyno room, but the Forced Performance turbo did not disappoint. as I have said numerous times, Crispeed tunes are the best. No stalling at the line, just a perfect running car. Even put the street tires on it and went for a cruise today I did not make it to the track until about 8:30, which really puts me in a bad setting. I hate getting there late. It was super hot with high humidity too. I talked with Albright a pro stock guy. He pulled his meter and it regeistered 2000 ft field elevation. So for this car to run back to back 9.0's@155/157 is unbelievable not too mention I was shifting at 7-8k. I did get locked out as many said would happen on the stock trans. Thats why I made two initial easy passes. Third pass was locked out. 4th was a 9.20/154 pass and that was it. There is no doubt the car is capable of 8's. I'm guessing 8.80@160. I may have to check the trans and Tilton. They have been through alot of abuse and it showed signs of hesitation even on the dyno. I may freshen it up before I try again. Gotta handle a few other items as well. But what a feeling... I just cant thank Mike/Anthony/Eddie/Shawn/Crew at AWDMOTORSPORTS, Buschur Racing, Crispeed, Forced Performance, Driven Innovations, and Shearer. This has proven to be an unstoppable team. I am working on editing the vids, but here is the timeslip.

God that thing just rockets down the 1320!
Im sure you'll have no problem hitting mid 8's this year! Especially if your not granny shifting and double clutching like you should.

hahahaha, yes sir, you short shifted it for sure! Very nice run other than that! You can shift for sure, one of the best. Not only did you hit the rev limiter but I'm pretty sure it startled you and you lifted!
You'll get it next time out!

Thanks. And yes, I lifted as soon as I heard it pop An 8 sec pass is right around the corner. It was a great night of learning. And in reality, how can you complain with two back to back 9.0's, no breakage, and just plain straight safe runs. I am 100% comfortable with the power now and just need to get the shift points down. I may wire in a shift light to help out. Sheet happens so fast in there Good things to come..
