Sorry to hear about the rod Brian. Your new engine is already in the works and should be shipped before Friday. I am going to take care of it for you, I sent you a PM, just need a few things from you is all.
Very sorry to hear about it, I wanted to see TWO 8 second passes this weekend!

As for the motor. Yeah, it let go due to a rod. The car sounded great and the burnout was perfect. Launched in first gear and it was downhill from there. I was very surprised to see the damage because it sounded just like a bad set of plugs do. So yeah, it was a horrible day filled with lots of emotions. But just to do a small recap. Here is a list of all the great things this BUSCHUR motor has done over the last 6 months. We will miss her....
Worlds Quickest and Fastest Stock Turbo Evo 10.21@133
Worlds Quickest Evo IX(Mivec) 9.0@157
World's Quickest Stock Appearing(Red) 9.53@145 (not the current record)
14 9 second runs
HP w/ stock turbo 468 WHP/ 492 TQ
HP record for FP RED 631 WHP/535 TQ
HP record for FP HTA3586 804 WHP/ 589 TQ
hours and hours of dyno time
And the most fun, quite a bit of street driving and giving rides
So, it's been a great 6 months full of accomplishments. Now stay tuned for the next level. 100% due in part by my great sponsors BUSCHUR RACING, AWDMOTORSPORTS, SHEARER, FORCED PERFORMANCE, DRIVEN INNOVATION'S
Damn, I am gonna have to make it up to Ohio and buy David a Thanks David...

Well, we know what works and what doesnt. Just a quick rebuild and we're out again for 8's on some new trick gear:0 DB FTW....

Man Brian i'm very sorry to see that window into your block....yikes!
No doubt you'll be back out going for that 8 sec pass in no time thanks to DB.
When did it let go just randomly in the middle of a gear or just after a gear change?

You are welcome Brian, don't get all emotional on me. It's how it all works. You have been buying our parts and supporting us for 6 years. This is what, your 3rd EVO that's had our parts on it? You are out there breaking records, you bought one motor from us for the car and it served you well. This failure shouldn't have happened, well everything fails eventually and this one did it's job, but I still feel the failure should not have happened. I will stand behind it, because you stand behind us. Thank you for everything.

RED, BLACK, BLUE, and now WHITE 4 to date and this one I'm keeping for awhile. As I have said before, its easy to promote and sell something you believe in.
I have found a very fast combination and will take what we've learned and build on it. There will be some nice changes too. Gonna install the FP5R cams and and rebuild the Tilton. The car will be all new and ready for 8's.
Like they say, if you dont break stuff you aint trying hard enough Its a set back for sure, but there are a few things I need to address anyways. And with DB as my cut man I'm in good shape I'll keep everyone posted...

Aww man... let's see some pics of pistons, the munched up rods, etc...
There has to be a reason for the failure right? It's not like these motors are supposed to put a hole in the block after 6 months are they? Of course not. So what happened?

Since a new motor is already being built this one will be staying in the car for a short while until it goes to the shop for replacement. The motor failed due to a faulty aluminum rod. Whether it stretched or a rod bolt fatiqued we wont know until it gets torn down. But I will definitely take internal pics of the parts when I can. If its mechanical it can fail. I've had brand new half a million dollar jet engine's fail on me the first flight. In my case, its just part of racing. The new motor will see small changes and we will be testing the new Forced Performance FP5R cams, maybe a new 8 injector Driven Innovation's manifold, and maybe even a dog box. Its a good time to sit down, take a breathe, and come back stronger. Between Mike and I, I am sure AMS will have to bring their car out of the garage
