Just curious...because I know it is all in the tune as well. I currently make about 15psi off the line. When the tuner tried increasing the boost my Evo would shoot fireballs!

I am more worried about keeping the car going straight then the amount of boost it builds on the line I believe it is around 15. I will adjust my camera angles next few passes so I can look at whats going on. I do all my driving by sound, so I dont ever look at anything inside...

I understand what you are saying. The reason that I am asking is because the amount of boost you build off the line could directly affect your 60' times. So long as you could maintain traction, the more boost you build at the line the quicker your 60' would be. Some tuners spend some time dialing in the 2-step to create as much usable boost (aka power) off the line.

Well, the car was pulling consistent 1.39-1.42 60's on the red. I only had three passes on the new set up before destruction and it pulled 1.43-1.45 60's and I was leaving at 7200. Once the car is back up and running I will increase the 2 step until I start losing traction. I think it will end up being around 7400. I am just now learning how to log, etc. We were going to log the second run and raise the two step, but we ended up not making a second run

My comment about increased 60' times when boosting more off the line was more of a general comment. Without a doubt you are already rocketing off the line! I think part of tuning the 2 step is not only raising the 2 step "RPM" itself but also adding more timing. I may be wrong though.

1.43-1.45 60' foots are pretty dam good already for a big turbo. The more boost he builds off the line the harder the launch but there is more chance the t case can blow out.

Yeah I know it was a general statement. Nothing harsh taken. I just dont question the tuner and dont really ask questions. He hand's the car over and I just go drive it. Since the car seems to break whatever record we try for first or second pass, its hard to question anything. I couldn't even tell you what the timing looks like. I really don't even want to know. I have the best tuner in the country tuning so it's one less thing I have to worry about. I just concentrate on making good runs. Thats what makes it a team. They watch all the runs and advise me what needs to be changed if anything. There may be room for improvement, but I will need more passes to dial it in on the bigger turbo. Crispeed FTW....

Its nice when you find a shop and tuner you can depend on. I myself have used various shops and tuners for 3-4 different projects I've tried. I don't believe I've found the "high quality" shop (installer) and tuner that I'd like for the money I am spending. For instance, I paid $1000 for a CRAPPY tune when I first got an AEM EMS only to pay another $1000 for a "better" tune with another tuner. The tune was definitely better but whether it was as good as it should have been is debatable. Bottom line for me is that I wish I had a shop and tuner in my area which I felt no reserves spending my hard earned money at.

Apologize for going off topic. Have a great weekend!

Sorry to hear your dilemas and i certainly don't want to de-rail this and i'm sure Brian won't mind me extending a hand to you.

Although we aren't in SoCal if you ever decide to or run out of options we are located in NorCal and try to support all of our customers 110% from building to racing!

Back OT though now i know who Shaun is @ AWD
