geoff. why do you just tack weld the spots VS putting like 1 inch welds or fully welding the seams?

Awesome work. The EvoX LCA is a great idea.

thanks ernie - you are absolutely right!!! that is definitely the benefit of the wider arm, its just the correct way to go wide

if you tried to lay down a bead, the sheet metal is so thin and has so many contaminants in it (anti corrosion and seam glue) that it really isnt the type of metal you want to put beads on. Its dirty, thin, has glue all over it and very easy to melt a hole in if you are sloppy with the MIG. now if you want to go straight gangster style without turning the car into something like this:

this is what i am going for:

you can buy these sheet metal pieces from mitsu and then weld them on additionally over the stock ones

Geoff,
nucci and I discussed how much wider the Evo X LCA's are... do you know exactly how much wider they are? supposedly it has a 1.2inch wider track... I assume they're .6" longer than the Evo 8/9 lcas?

Any ideas for going more narrow in the back while keeping the same offset front to back and not using spacers?

I guess going wider in the front is better then going more narrow in the back, other then tire clearance. I'm running the 275/35/18 on 9.5 x 22 wheels and they were a PITA to fit. Can't imagine going wider LCAs without going to a wider front fender at this point.

Awesome Build!!

I've got some questions???
-Using the Evo X LCA what impact does it have on Roll Center?
-In the rear. I saw you don't have bump steer correction kit?? Why did you choose not to use this?

And a comment on the stitch welding.. Awesome Idea I've been tig it.. You are right its not fun at all. Its way to thin and any contaminants pop out blowing holes. Not fun but a great Idea.

-evo X lca will widen track width, and improve roll center. I used the whiteline kit which further improves roll center, and adjusts for bumpsteer. Additionally i used a perrin PSRS kit to add caster, and move the 275 tires away from the sideskirt

i dont know how you can try and tig the seams... that is masochistic.. We have (14) different tig welding setups here at full-race and i would not want to try any! a good 220V mig is all you need

Geoff, what are the draw backs of running the Evo X front LCA's on a CT9A? Axle length? Seems like something to look into doing! How much wider does the X LCA make the track?
