Yep just feel bad for the builder as well, a lot of time and money into it for a company to waste.

So Scott is eating the labor cost or is he going after Manley since they admitted to their fault? Either way, its nice to see not everything people say online is true.

Scott is not charging me anymore labor cost, he is a good guy and even though it was not his fault at all he is still taking care of me on this. He has a lot of time and energy into the car. He wants to see it done as much as I do. Racecars.

What has happened piston wise is Manley wants to sell us their off the shelf piston they do not want to custom make it to my block and my measurements. Which is fine for anyone who has not already machined their block. They have always really only been known as an off the shelf company and so they want to just send us new rings and be done with it. So I will just end up selling the pistons to someone doing a 4G64 build that has not already machined the block or whatever. They are great pistons just not for my project.

At the PRI conference in Orlando a couple weeks back we went and had a conference with JE and they are going to make a one-off custom asymetrical piston. Should be the first evo running them I believe or at least the first 4G64 out there with them according to JE. 2-3 weeks to build so I will keep the thread updated.

It has been said they can rust and whatnot but that is if you handle them and do not prepare them properly for install. These were cleaned, well oiled and then installed with gloves. There is no certainty that someone from ARP has not handled them w/out gloves so they should always be properly prepared.

I just want to say thank you for sharing the build in detail. There were a few questions asked earlier but were never answered.... What piston to wall clearance are you going with and what kind of bearing clearances are you running? Is the head ported any? Thanks for your time!
