Anarchy99s First Build Thread: 2.4 Long Rod w/ Foward Facing HTA 3794 (Tons of Pics)
New PICS in Post 2 and Video in Post 3 First initial dyno graph is on page 11
Mod List Updated:
TTP Built 2.4 Long Rod
Built 5 Speed Transmission w/ Evo 9 first and Evo 8 second-fifth
Forced Performance HTA 3794r
TTP Custom o2 and downpipe
FIC 2150cc for E85
Koyo Half Rad
Full Blown Twin Pump
Magnus Manifold
Boomba TB and Fuel Rail
Much more!
So being that this is my first build thread I will try to be as detailed as possible, hopefully I do not leave anything out but please ask any questions you may have! As the build progresses I will update the thread
Why a 2.4 Long Rod? Well I wanted to try something new, I love torque and love the fact that I can spool quicker on the motor.
What Compression Ratio? I am going with a high compression 10.5.1 motor on E85. I think this combination will be ideal for a well-rounded powerhouse.
What Internals? We went with the Manley Turbo Tuff I-Beam Rods and Manley Pistons, the block was clearanced - Stock crank was balanced and polished with ARP Mains to bolt it all together
First things first - Here are some shots of the motor out of the machine shop:
The block was hand washed after bringing it back to the shop:
Engine Blood
Prepping with Bearings and Studs:
Apply Sauce:
Crank In:
Shot of the Pistons and Rods Pre-Install
Some Shots Before/After the Pins are Installed And Having Some Fun
Apply More Sauce and Connect
GO INTO YOUR HOLE!
Two Down
All In! (That's what she said)
Prior to the motor being done we went ahead and began making the water pump gasket here is the weld mod rather than spacer:
Modified Gasket:
Installed onto Front Case
Assembling Front Case
Putting Together Front Case and Timing Components
Install Mivec Oil Feed Line
Main Girdle, Getting Ready for Oil Pickup and Install
Install Rear Main Seal
Cleaning Oil Pan Bolts (Before)
Cleaning Oil Pan Bolts (After)
Oil Pain Prep & Install
ARP L19 Install
Power Enterprises Headgasket On and That's A Wrap! (For a few minutes)
Head Prep (Has Kelford 272's and Supertech Springs/Retainers)
Apply Copper Spray To Fill The Gaps
Install Head Gasket on Motor
Lord of the Rings! Then Head Installed!
Remove Crusty Cheap Oil Filter and Replace With Pretty Black One From Mitsu
These Cam Gears Look Boring - Let's Add Some Color!
Go Ahead and Toss on Alternator
The Water Pipe and Mivec Feed Line Needed To Be Modified
Nice Asses (Boomba.Magnus V5)

Looks good so far man, let us know when you are ready for some ToxicFab goodies! Don't know if you remember but I actually purchased your FP Red from you early last year under a different screen name...The turbo blew after 4k miles & 1 track visit, haha, oh well!
