Well the race was today. Got the car off the trailer, threw the slicks on, and got her all ready to race.
First pass I wanted to take it very easy as I have never drag raced on the new slicks and without the brake booster. Pulled up to the line and got on the 2 step. Lets just say the tires didn't like me as I instantly blew them off, lifted completely and got back into it. Nice and easy shifts to 2nd, 3rd, and a super slow shift to 4th. Car felt FAST let me tell you. Got on the brakes and had no problem slowing down. Car went 10.3 @ 149 mph with a crap 1.76 sixty and grandma shifting lol. Car picked up 45 mph in the back half!
Here is where my bad lucked kicked in. Came to a stop as something wasn't right. I'm 99% sure my Quarter Master slave cylinder/ TOB took a dump on me. I couldn't put the car in gear unless it was off. Clutch pressure felt ok and the clutch stop was adjusted correctly. Got it to the trailer and we rebled the line and looked at the clutch stop. Again everything looked ok.....Then out of no where while pushing the clutch pedal down the pedal just went to the floor and stayed...I'm pretty sure the lip seal on the unit blew out. Not sure how but that put an end to my day.
I am going to pull the trans to take a look asap. My turbo needs to be sent out to get rebuilt as I toasted two spark plugs last week and the material that burnt off of them decided it would be nice to go through my exhaust wheel. Pretty amazed the car made the power it did with a hurt turbo lol. O and I toasted the head gasket, blew my radiator apart, had to have the head machined to fix it. But that is in the past and I really don't want to talk about it haha. That is all fixed now.
Things are going to have to wait another couple weeks. Sucks...
