most of our kits are utilizing smaller sized runners that others- and we are extremely pleased with the results.

They make a bottom mount TS externally gated manifold that has been used previously with the EFR, but required that you TRIM the transmission and the front motor mount IIRC. Geoff's top mount internally gated manifold is pretty badass. I'd be intersted in seeing if could put 2 wastegates on that manifold for mysetup...

Why not make it FF and be done with clearance issues?

Because then I couldn't run a full-size radiator! A mini-rad won't work for what I do

Ya this is the reason why I haven't decided on a turbo setup quite yet...

the 7163 is supposed to make 500+whp but stomp turbo's much smaller than itself on response. Jeff Perrin did some testing...

http://blog.perrinperformance.com/bo...test-and-tune/

BOOM! Mind blown again.
Perrin's normal lack of data is very helpful. What setup were these tested on, I couldnt find it in the blog post? I saw mention of a 2011 WRX at the very end but it didnt seem like it was the same car the the turbo kit was tested on. The next question I have is what housings were these tested in, did the 6758 have too small a housing and run into backpressure? For it to spool later and make less peak power I have to wonder about that

Per the turbo working the way it does, Mitsu has a very similar turbo that scaled up doesnt work the same. Evo3 16Gs (and now the HTA68) function at a level they shouldnt but doesnt translate into the 20Gs and larger versions.

This turbo does sound very appealing but the lack of manifolds makes it equally unappealing....

What housing was the 7163 in?

So the 6758 is a 0.64 T25 so thats why it got its butt handed to it compared to the T3 stuff. I presume the 7064 wasnt in a really housing either just the 0.83 A/r T3 open?

^ if you read the tests that he's done the EFR stuff... he goes over that it's his car, what's done to it, and the A/R and turbine housings on all the turbos.

He talks about the differences between the housings and such as well during his comparisons. The car is HIS car, and only til the last post does he compare the STI (his car with the stock turbo) STI (his car with the EFR) and a 2011 WRX(smaller turbo than STI)

The second thing is the boost falls off on the 7064. This is because the WG actuator was not strong enough. I never got a chance to install the push/pull WG actuator as i had to send the 7064 back to you."

The below graph is the GT3076r with smaller more comparable .63ar housing.

And the GTX3076R test with a .82AR housing

Correct me if im wrong, but the compressor and turbine wheels are the same, the compressor housings have different flanges though which doesnt affect flow.

Only for the 8374 and larger apparently. Not the 7670.
