glad you got the freeze plug fixed. pretty common problem with machine shops not using the OEM plugs or putting them in correct.

Yep that was fun. Was worried I'd be going down the same road as a friend who had tried the block. Thanks to friend Turbo Alforte for all of the time put into drivablility, safety, and power! Beat on it on the dyno yesterday with little to no mercy. Ran out of wastegate spring at 30 psi and I frankly didn't feel like burning my hands more after a long week of doing the same at work. Going to start searching for more appropriate cams while taking my theoretical rev limit into concern. The Kelford 280/276's are pretty peaky as evident by the sheet. Things I'll take care of at a later date before shipping it. For now, having my beautifully driving, safe, quite powerful to me car back is amazing. Will be pushing it further soon enough.

Oh and if anyone is running a Precision 46mm wastegate you might want to get yourself a longer Allen head bolt for the v-band that connects it to the manifold. The other day while on the dyno, before I realized I was going to need a bigger spring the wastegate literally fell off. The bolt supplied only secured by the last three or four threads and those stripped at the end of a run and ejected. Fun stuff lol.

Absolutely going to. Need to start talking to with gsc and Kelford about a more appropriate cam as well.

Great results thanks! Will you be opening a thread concerning better cams for the 2.4?

Epic!

So how much boost do you think the semi-open deck 4g69 block will be able to handle?

Ya know the Buschur DSM/Evo shootout is this weekend. You should come show this beauty off!

I was supposed to head back to Panama today but my mother is having some medical issues so I've decided to push it back to make sure everything is good here. In that time I'm definitely planning on increasing the wastegate spring at the very least and considering swapping cams if I can figure out what would be the best for the setup.

Taking my 500 ish hp car to the shootout would be a little pointless these days.

Not sure what it will handle but I won't be anywhere close to satisfied until it rolls off with closer to a 650 hp mark with a nicer power band.

I really appreciate it man. Probably e85. Wish that stuff was available where I'm moving. Eventually going to have to tune it for 95 ron which I've heard is closer to our 91

Spoke to Greg at GSC a few days ago about the cams. He directed me to Miles at English Racing since they are basically the godfathers of mivec exploration. Both agreed something was not right with the mivec tables by just looking at the previous dyno graph. As it turns out, the warnings I had recently heard about the aem ems v1 and mivec were pretty spot on. I understand it all but in short the stock ecu really is the way to go if choosing between the two. My friend who tuned it before did what he could with what he had and busted his a$$. So, Miles puts me in touch with a gentleman named Huy in Houston who owns a shop with a great deal of experience with dsm and evo strokers. He has also worked with English in regards to mivec tables. We talk for a bit and he tells me I can run my aem 5 bar with the tephra 7 and that I'd be ok just keeping my Hallman pro in place. Basically, not having to change/purchase anything else to go back to stock ecu. I figure I'll give it a go as the guy was a direct recommendation from two highly respected sources from the community.

It was a long, hot, Texas day. I'm tired. Tomorrow I'll take pics of the graphs and post video. What I will leave you with is:

715.84 hp and 549.90 tq @ 32.83 psi

799.81 hp and 634.53 tq @ 39.06 psi

Engine was loving it. Turbo was loving it. Car accomplished more than I thought it could. So I said let's leave it at that and drove it back home.

Wow awesome numbers.....did think your previous dyno graph the power came on pretty late but it still made decent power.....was this on e85? Did you still have the kelfords in? About to sell the 4g64 block and get a 4g69 for my build! Thanks for all your hard work! Hope mom is well and getting better!

Big run screen shot. Sorry for missing the rpm. Can see it in the overlay sheet.

AEM EMS v1 and crap control of mivec vs stock ecu. I'm literally blown away that they released a mivec version like this and haven't totally recalled it/fixed the software.

39 psi vs. just under 33 psi

All on e85. Mom is doing better man. Thank you for the concern. The dyno sheets actually cheered her up lol.
