Yes, the car just had tuning finalized last Friday. All information requested is on the dyno sheets I provided above. Max hp was 799.81 and with the 1.5:1 rod to stroke ratio of the engine I'm only taking it to 8200 rpm. With the new found power band of the car it is quite an exciting 8200 rpm though

Hey, amazing build. Lotsof great info for me, as I'm in the process of building a 4g69/evo8 head build.
I do have a question, have been searching and was hoping someone who has done this build (like you) could shine some light. Or anyone who has the answer, much appreciated.
I'm a bit stuck on what head gasket to use
I see you used the PE metal gasket and have read on a few other threads that it is a great fit. However I've also noticed this gasket
http://www.maperformance.com/map-87m...vo-hg-eco.html
cometic 87mm gasket.
as I'm only aiming for 500hp on this build, would this be ok? or should I just go with the tried and true PE one? sorry for the threadjack. but any info would be appreciated! thanks.

Shade08, with respect, the last things I would cut costs on for a block that is already sacrificing cylinder wall thickness would be the head gasket or head studs. I believe this used to be listed as their economy head gasket for the 2.4 litre blocks. One of the only two other guys I know to have had a running 4g69 had Map build it and used their economy hg. It had many issues with with blowing out multiple freeze plugs and Map was unable to find the issue eventually leading to the guy ditching the block completely and building a 2 litre. I still think it was due to the gasket chosen. Being that it is a Cometic makes me even more weary. To clarify this is nothing against Map at all. Just that I do not think this hg is appropriate for this particular block/head combination.
If needing to cut costs on a 500 ish hp build I would go with H-beam instead of I-beam rods.

just read the entire thread. my mouth was watering watching that manifold come together!! you are correct when saying its more like art than just a car part. absolutely beautiful.. that 39psi pull sounded very healthy vs the 32psi pull. I am super envious of your evo, and glad that everything came together for you in the end. cheers!!!
EDIT: What clutch are you running? maybe I missed it? thanks!

Hey thank you so much 03. There is definitely a night and day difference in between the attempted tune on the aem and the one one the stock ecu. Wish the problem would have been recognized earlier before throwing away considerable amounts of money but nothing has been easy with this project so don't know why I expected any different with this avenue. In regards to the clutch, I'm just running one of the revised Exedy triple cerametallic hd units on a low mileage '03 oem tranny for now. Would like to see what Magnus has up their sleeve for a ct9a compatible über clutch when I either go with a tre unit or one of the new dogbox offerings about to hit the market.

Nice, you are pushing a lot more power so I figured maybe that gasket was good for my goals. But thanks a bunch for the info, the 160 difference doesn't seem like much when you factor in peace of mind and the car actually functioning properly. Definitely going to go with a PE head gasket, after what you said and I've read on here, the PE gasket seems like the best way to go.
btw awesome build, man!
this thing is a monster.
