Evo 2 BW EFR 8374 build. Going for 9`s

Hello
Thought I would share some pictures of my early Evo 2 build (CE9A). Bought it in 2006. The car is a 1994 and weights 1260 kg (about 2760lb)stock.

Manley 94 mm crank, pistons and H- beam rods.
Head is ported with +1.0 mm valves, Kelford TX-284HL, Driven Innovation intake, custom Garrett core IC, ID2000. E85.
QM 7.25" twin plate.
Not been on dyno with the new cams yet. Made 608 hp (Dynapack) with Kelford 272 running about 30 psi if I remember correctly.

Running a Vi-PEC V88 ecu.

Main problem with the earlier Evo 1-3 is the weak 4th gear. Have broken 2 of them when on the dyno at about 650 nm+ (470lb+?) Have now got a custom, bulletproof 4th gear that will handle all tq I will ever make No more tq limiting in 4th gear
Are also changing diff ratio from 3.909 to 3.545.
Have also twisted the splines of an input shaft. It is thinner and weaker than CT9A evos. Think its the launches cauising it.

If I get time, I will make a full 3.5" exhaust, or at least downpipe. Time is as always running from me...

Here is some pictures:

Custom 4th gear

Twisted input shaft

Broken 4th gear intermediate shaft

Why not the Evo 2? Its a very lightweight chassis. Not to mention rare to us here in the US and I'm sure for the most part in Europe nowadays. I'd love to have an older Evo (1-6).

I love the early Evos. Btw I also have a white Evo 8 which I also like And yes the early 1-3 are very rare here in Norway. I believe there a max 3-4 cars with license plates here in Norway, and there is no way to get more cars registered...

If I had the money and enough space, I would buy atleast one of each Evo

Thanks
I am looking forward to test in once again at the strip in the beginning of June.

I have also a turbospeedsensor, 5 EGT`s and a backpressure sensor hooked up to the Vi-PEC for monitoring and personal education.

I finally got som time to make a 3.5" from turbo and back. Have not fully welded and wrapped the downpipe yet, but hopefully in the next few days.

Old 3" vs new 3.5"
