Well, I had to drop some timing because my Eth % is more than 10% lower than what I had in California, but the top end does feel more linear than before.
That said, I hadn't really gone WOT in this car for years so it feels like a missile to me. I actually scared myself the first time. Before that, I was beginning to think my GTI felt fast. lol
The turbo flowing more would require a DECREASE in WGDC. The heads flowing more require an INCREASE in WGDC.
If you take the flow to the extreme it becomes obvious. If the valves in the head are PEA sized then boost will be QUICKLY and EASILY achieved and WGDC will be low.
On the contrary the larger valves and head job flow more, reducing head flow restriction. WGDC must be increased to reach target boost.
Stations in NY Hudson valley vary all over the place. I follow a guy on Insta that apparently tests the alcohol % as part of his job. I am not sure if he goes as far south as you are. He told me which station is the highest, and it is indeed pumping 80% compared to 68% at other stations.
That magic station is in Glenmont.
Radium fuel rail, FPR, and dampener in. Next up is installing the 8an radium feed line and filter from the tank to the rail.
I also might have put some 2150cc injectors in so I can drive the car while waiting for the 1700's to get serviced. Who knows, maybe I'll keep the 2150's in...
Well hopefully you do what I did with your current fuel filter type and install it in a lawn mower. LOL.
How are the 2150cc at idle and part throttle driving ?
Finally have a set of Quickjacks. Been wanting a set for years and now that I have them I can't believe it took me this long. Gives me a great amount of room to work underneath the car. The catalyst for finally buying them was that regular jacks won't work with my floor tiles. Good excuse to buy these!
I also recently installed some hanging cabinets above my tool chests and also bought two tall cabinets. It's so nice to move stuff out of plastic bins!
That garage is starting to get pretty dialed in. Congrats. I have those husky cabinets for about 5 years now. They are awesome. Something about the metal cabinets works relly well, and they last forever. Stand up to abuse too.

Hah, yea, a real lift was in my plans when we were house shopping. We actually found a home with a lift already installed(!), but the house itself wasn't really what we wanted. It pained me to no end to skip that house, hhaha.
We ended up looking at ranch homes, which all have garages under the house like this one does, so the garage ceiling is always pretty low. Mine is only 7 ft high. When we found this house, I had plans to build a detached garage at some point, because we have a decent amount of land. However, I quickly found out that the place I was going to put the detached garage was where our septic field is, so no go on those plans.
So... I'm trying to make the best of this attached garage.

Yea man, as you know, I've basically had sheds for the last 20 years so... while this garage isn't exactly what I wanted, it's still much better than what I lived with for so long before. It feels bigger than I originally thought it would (24x21) and with the improvements I have been doing, it's starting to feel damn nice!
Received the test results for my ID1700x injectors. I guess the anodizing failing in my surge tank did do some damage. Have to replace two of the injectors.
