I think the cat is most of whats hurting you. English Racing has data that the Gen2 5558 makes more power than the CEA (gen1 compressor) 5858.

Also, every MD is different. The car could very well be making 600whp+ on a dynojet. And then cat could be hurting you for ~10% power at that level.

And then VD data isn't always perfectly comparable to a real dyno.

Yes, I know every dyno is different, that is what I also mentioned the car feels soft compared to before. It is for sure making less power than it did with the previous setup.

I might just pick up a cheap $150 test pipe and see what happens. I'm actually surprised the cat is making a difference since it is rated for up to 850hp.

850hp out of a high strung 2.0L is much different than 850hp from something larger and not working as hard. I also wouldnt be surprised if a ~600-650whp Evo is 800 crank hp.

I didn't notice a hit with that GESI CAT, but I am only at 450whp. It IS rated for 850, but honestly it IS also a restriction of some sort compared to a HOLE.
Has was your AFR curve, and wasn't the E85 the crap from the NY ? Maybe it is something else....

Looks like a 2020 Supra does around 310whp on this dyno, so about a normal reading Mustang dyno.

No way am I believing a 600whp Evo has 200hp drivetrain loss. Sorry. With that logic, I was making 800hp before on a 5858. Come on, that's 25%. lmao. None of that computes with the hundreds of evos I have tuned over the years.

E67 according to my sensor. This was with adding timing to match what I was using before on E79 in California. It put down 503 first pull from the street. 512 whp after putting back in a degree.

I would agree seeing that they typically do 330-340whp on a DJ.

650 would be around 845,850 crank if were still using the 30% drivetrain loss but yes I agree with your statement. Everything isn't working as hard at that point.

Bryan,
I just finished catching up on this thread, and apologies for hijacking, but are you still interested in selling?
I've tried reaching out via PM, but I don't know if you've received my messages.

Also, I was curious as to why so many of the images are missing from previous posts?

Sold the Evo today. End of an era. For the first time in over 30 years, I no longer own a Mitsubishi.
