Graduated to WOT logs for Chet. Going good so far. Heat shield and valve cover bolt kit comes in tomorrow so this weekend I should be installing the shield, new valve cover along with the Driven Fab catch/coolant can and lines. I've also got an appointment to get tint tomorrow morning. Woot! Coming along nicely.

Good install day.
Had the windows tinted this morning:
Received & installed Drive Fab firewall heat shield:
Also received and installed my hood shocks. This should have been my first mod!!!! So much better!
Not sure I'll get to it this weekend but next up is to install the new valve cover, Driven Fab catch can & valve cover bolts!

Well I got the valve cover, bolt set, and catch can installed this morning. Let me give a quick review as well.
At first sight I was very impressed with the quality of parts from Driven Fab - catch can and bolt kit. However, once I started the install I was not impressed with their quality control on these parts. The catch can is missing the bolt/nut that is needed to attach the can - says it's included in the directions and the valve cover bolt kit was missing 1 bolt too. I went to Ace to pick up some silicone gasket and picked up another stainless bolt to match too. I'll probably just buy them from Ace for the rest of the engine bay now too instead of ordering a kit - cheaper and in my control I suppose.
Also, the 10an press fitting that goes on the driver side of the valve cover didn't fit correctly. It was super loose, would almost fall out on its own. I spoke with Driven Fab and they are aware of the issue and are having new ones produced. That doesn't really help me now though. I sealed it with clear JB Weld so it's not coming back out now, hopefully it doesn't leak.
Anyway, the pics!
Stock plastic valve cover off - cleaning the head for the new cover and gasket.
I know I know, black zip ties!!! I'll go pick some up today, for some reason I have hundreds of zip ties and they are all neon or white, hah! DOHHHH
The catch can itself was a nice fit. Kinda hard to get to the bottom bolt but having big hands doesn't help. Looks so much better than the stock white junker.
Hopefully my Boost Resource exhaust manifold blanket will be here next week as that should really clean up the engine bay!
