Got front mostly buttoned up. I assumed the small bolt on the top of the knuckle is where Dallas intended to run the ABS wire. Added a little clamp. Also managed to change the oil and start it for the fist time in a few months. Still need to finish the rear suspension install and get an alignment. I scored an Evo7 rear bumper I plan to chop and paint (probably next winters project). Wana try and make something like the image below and do a flat bottom trunk floor/delete spare well. This is all Austin's influence haha
Hell yeah! I love the 7 bumper but SCCA says no. I also believe I will be doing Victory Function fenders and have some ideas on how to incorporate the shape into a livery design. If they made a blade for them like they do for the X I would already have them. Their shape looks really weird/bad from certain angles but I think I can live with it as compared to fender spacers.
Haha yaaasss. Once I'm done with the splitter stuff I'll move onto diffusers. Prolly do a rough mockup piece later summer/fall. Building them will def be a next winter project.
Drove up to Milwaukee with my Son to pickup the bumper. About an hour and a 1/2 drive. This is going to work out nice because I accidentally deleted the wires to the rear bumper side markers and the Evo7 rear doesnt have them lol
Working on splitter things with Ayoustin. Just testing shape and mounts on my car. Plan on building with Alumalite, and Prof Awesome diffusers, and a quick release setup.
No updates in a while but I have been doing stuff. Picked up a Setrab Series 6, 34 row oil cooler. Made some brackets and have it mostly done. Need to do top brackets and fittings/line. Also got some gauges which I haven't started installing yet. Got AEM AFR, 35psi boost, and an Innovative 150psi oil pressure and temp in one. Also plugged some holes on the doors with some small pieces of carbon fiber I picked up from STM. On with the photo dump.
Made brackets but not welded to rad support yet, just mocking it up.
Cleaned up and rust treated my front subframe. Then coated twice in POR15. Surface finish isnt as smooth as Id have liked but I spent 0 time sanding and smoothing. All i did was wire brush the rusty spots, clean, and treat. Then paint. Shes not gonna rust anymore thats for sure.
Painted with 2 coats of POR15 After rust treatment Just wire brushed and cleaned, before rust treatment.
Awesome work man. Definitely an inspiration to me, to get mine to look this good. Keep up the good work. 👍🏼
Slow progress. Welded up some simple brackets for the PS Cooler. Gutted the front bumper and took off the OEM oil-cooler. STM carbon bumper shutters arrived as well.
Finished up mounting the oil cooler. Just need to do lines/fitting to complete it. I like the way it turned out besides some of my crude welds. Hopefully it does at least as good a job as the stock cooler with its ducting. Guess we'll see.
Havent posted in a little while. Finished up the oil-cooler and lots of other little stuff. Almost sorted and ready to get out to an event hopefully in the next month or 2. Also bought a Trailer in partnership with Austin and figured out mounting and tie downs.
Also took my Boy out to GridLife Midwest and hung out with Ayoustin who was doing some HPDE and had a weekend pass. Fun times. Really cool to see the PA guys, ASM, RS etc cars and people in person. PA I believe went 1.24 at Gingerman which I was told was a track record, but suffered a failure in cylinder 1 and it took them out for the rest of the event. The RS car I was told suffered a trans case failure and I believe also are done. Sucks to see so many cool Evos with mechanical failures. But the event was great. First time at GridLife and its just huge. Big crowd and lots of cars. Maybe too many cars/traffic by the looks of the various rounds I watched.
