PA won the event with their 1:24.x but the record is still held by Will Au-Yeung in his civic at 1:23.x. But usually the record is broken more towards the fall when the track is 1-3 seconds faster for most cars so it should be reset this year if everyone brings their A game for round 7.

Not sure exactly. It seems Michael P also suffered an engine failure. He seems to believe it was a bad batch of E85 from the local Shell. So lots of Evos had engine or trans failures this past weekend. But Mike still secured 3rd, and PA per Austin won their class. So at least all was not lost.

I think they toasted a head gasket pretty good. They said they were leaking coolant between the head and block. I believe they said cylinder 1. Maybe they hydrolocked the cylinder and bent a rod from it.
When you're making the power like PA and the RS guys your failures aren't going to be like most guys.

Took some time to do a few purely aesthetic things today. Running out of projects that dont cost vast sums of money, and need an excuse to spend time in my happy place aka the garage.
Removed the pinkish anodizing on the cooler plate, and removed the bluing done by the previous owner to the strut bar.
Caustic soda bath for the alum cooler plate stripped it off, then some hand brushing with metal polish. On the Ti strut bar I used brillo pad with metal polish to take off the bluing. Some elbow grease and a few bucks, but the colors on these items always bothered me. I prefer raw/brushed metal when the metal doesn't rust.
For ref here is how they looked before:

Well if you're in the market to make or facilitate making them... I know a lot of racers that want that bar since its 5lbs potential and high up. If you made them for >$500 and they save 5lbs over stock, I think they would sell. $100/lb is in the range where I'm willing to spend for front weight at this point.

Just glancing at it, he said raw material cost would likely cost about what your price point is. Then he has to have the shock tower plates machined, and fab the rest. So, it's not realistic. Example- a 12x12x.062" sheet/plate from McMaster Carr is $340. And that's not even thick enough to use for the shock tower plates.
