I can see that. Different car entirely GTR vs Evo. Different design goals and intentions. The longer I've owned my 8 the more I've become a bit of an evo fanatic so the 3 was a natural regression lol. Also There are some parts that I can swap over that I have from my 8 build so thats cool in and of itself, besides being familiar with the platform and how these cars are put together.

So I did some hammering and cutting this past few days. I dont think I'm going to have wheel interference issues where I've had them before. Drilled a hole through the side skirts and fender and bolted them together. Then cut away some of the fender and skirt as well as hammered the pinch weld flat and painted it. I also finally got the wires for the oil temp and pressure sensors in the cabin. I did not want to make any new holes in the FW so I used the grommet for the wipers up top on the passenger side to route the wires. Slow progress is slow.

The downside here is if something gets wedged between the sideskirt and road or any off-road excursion its going to rip my fender off and damage a bunch of stuff...

I dont think so. The plastic side skirt will fail first.

I'm debating making an inner fender guide so guys who space out their fenders can better flow out the back of them and keep the door jamb area clean. Would be easy enough to make from thin HDPE or a similar material.

I was considering doing the same. I have some old Rallyarmor mudflaps who I was going to make the sacrificial lamb. But if you make, I buy!

Would love something like that. To give it a finished look, like it’s actually supposed to be like that and not just bent like it’s been in a wreck lol.

Just want to say im not dead and the covid didnt get me. Life with kids and a nurse wife aint easy. But I had the slab in my garage done to spec for a maxjacks and insulated plus added another outlet. Been jumping through a hundred hoops to get the evo3 titled but at this point just waiting for it to show up in the mail. Evo3 is hurt from excessive driving so I need to tear into it once i have time. Did a complete brake job on it and she drives nice. Enjoing it maybe too much. Nothing major. Still have to finalize gauges on the 8( only need boost ref and power and its done) and install rear SSB uprights plus cage and shes ready for track duty.

Finally getting around to Dallas's rear uprights. Got a new tool chest and its nice to have a garage where I can find what I'm looking for. Its coming together. Gonna spend the winter buttoning **** up and hopefully get a cage.

How do you like that tool chest?

I'm debating whether to get another one that matches my existing setup or just give up on consistency and try out the Husky

The toolbox is nice. Soft close drawers, stainless top. Its heavy, I think it weighs like 500 lbs. Relatively inexpensive compared to other brands. Quality seems good for what I need. It was a birthday present from the wife.
