Evo IX 2.3 Liter Build FP Black Build
#496
Last night we finished the 91 map and began tuning on E85. Prior to this I pulled the spark plugs to give them a check, they look fantastic! I also did a compression test and all the numbers are within 1 psi of each other.
Earlier this week, I replaced the IACV. It turns out I didn't need to, but hey after 115,000 miles I figured it couldn't hurt as I can keep the old one as a spare. I found out that the o-ring that surrounds the IACV was missing from the IACV plastic outer ring. Not pointing any fingers, but MAP was the last company to service my throttle body when I sent it in for porting. I have no malicious intentions or proof, so this is that and the problem has now been addressed.
The compute stick is working well thus far for flashing and logging. The trick is to use the windows 10 scaling function to make the text and icons larger, otherwise everything is too small to see with such high resolution and small screen.
More updates to come!

Thanks !
Looks like they spend more time marketing these days than developing their QC process.

What model flip up head unit is that? It looks great!
I use this as a logging trigger for EvoScan.

That's a neat trick using that trigger pen! It would make it safer to log on the road.

Quick update guys! Look at how yellow and sh!tty my headlights are right now. I've decided to re-clear my headlights and I'm using a very simple 3 step method. Just cleaning, wet sanding with 800 grit , masking, and clear. No plastic adhesion promoter and no sanding with 1000 to 2500. This is just what I see working after doing a bit of research. I've decided to remove the front bumper, but leave the headlights on the car so that I don't risk screwing up the factory headlight alignment, breaking any brittle wires, or giving myself more problems than I needed to fix.
Yellow driver side
Yellow passenger side
Finished wet sanding driver side
Once I apply the 2k clear, they will gloss up and look factory again.
Also I am happy to report that my engine does not burn oil anymore. I can't even measure oil loss on the dipstick, it's all still there from 2000 miles ago haha *knocks on wood*

Crazy how well they work when they're built right

Headlights are done and they came out brilliant! Such a stupid easy process, but it involves wasting most of the can of 2k clear. Once the catalyst is activated, you have to use the can within 48 hours, better in 24. They look great now, but I can take it a step further and give them a nice polish in about a month to cut down on any orange peel. I applied two coats of the clear after wiping the headlights down with rubbing alcohol three times.
There is something majestic about saving $2500.00.....

Damn they look good. Give them 30 days to cure, give them a good polish then ceramic coat them.

And the coating will keep them fresh.
