500hp/500tq FP Red build:

Good evening yalls, i recently blew my stock evo 9 block. I made 514whp/400tq on E85.

Build:
Gsc s2 cams
Gsc beehive springs/retainers
ARP headstuds
Stm FMIC/UICP
Stm intake w/ k&n filter
Fp red turbo stock placement
Fp turbo manifold stock placement
Tial Bov 8lb spring
Grimspeed EBC

New Block:
Manley H beam 14022-4
ARP 2000 rod bolts
9:1 weisco 1400 HD
Stock crank
ARP main studs

1220cc fic injectors
Walbro 450 FP
Fuellab FPR
Ams Fuelrail
E85

Haltech elite 2500

Rebuilt trans+longer 5th gear(done from previous owner, will be replacing 5th gear soon)
Act 10.8lb flywheel
Act 6 puck clutch

Goal: 500 HP/ 500 TQ
I do not plan or desire anymore HP or TQ. But I do question if the H beams will be able to handle my power goals.

I decided to go with the H beam because theyre lighter and read many builds of them handling 600hp+ but one part of me is still in doubt lol

I also decided to go with the MHI fp red because I wanted something closer to stock spool and still able to achieve my goals.

Itll be my weekend car, not to beat but to enjoy, as I already have a daily commuter.

Any insights or advice would be appreciated and considered. Thanks yall!(:

Threw a rod out the bottom of the oil pan. It actually happened during rolling antilag and it realized I shouldn't had done that in the first place. 🙃 it was a hard and expensive lesson to learn.

You'll be fine on the H beams. I am running eagle H-beams in my built 2.0 currently with a very similar mod list and make 580/510 at the wheels and have been for years.
Feel free to ask any questions you have about this setup, our cars are very similar but I am stock ecu.

Have you thought about going 2.3?

Thanks for your input!(:

no, I don't plan on running a 2.3. Honestly I have not done enough search on them but I wanted something similar to stock to keep everything else happy. Coming from the Honda platform, the Mitsubishi tax is no joke 😆

1220cc injectors are not going to get you to 500hp on E85 just FYI. I'd consider some 1700s.

Other than that the rest of your setup should get you to your goal just fine.

Thanks for the input!

The 1220cc has gotten me to 500whp with my original block before it blew. Although, I haven't check to see what the duty cycle was.

but I have considered 1700cc+ before.

1220cc will do it but you're pretty at the limit of duty cycle and high duty cycle on injectors is kind of asking for trouble. I would have said 14-1500cc would be the sweet spot but there aren't really any options, it jumps from ~1300 to 1700 with most manufacturers.

I supposed you could bump your base pressure up a bit more to get some extra headroom too.

yeah, I guess at this rate I might as well. I didn't bother to because my previous tuner never mentioned anything about my duty cycle being high or at limits.

Any brands you would suggest for smooth tuning?

Thanks

Anything high impedance shouldn't give you a tough time. FIC and ID are the two big names that most people flock to (myself included) but there are other options out there.

I personally run the ID1700x injectors. They have been really solid and haven't had any corrosion issues with running the ethanol.

I missed the 1220 in the original post, I'd agree with Ayo on getting a bigger set to hit your goals. You say 500/500 is what you want but you'll be able to make 550-600 on the red so you might as well lol.

Yall make a really good point. I will be looking to buy the 1700 ID or 1650 FIC to the list. Thank you guys!(:
