FS: 2003 Evolution...basic mods, priced to sell
Well, I guess you could call this a "feeler" to see if there is any interest in my car. I'm the type of person who isn't quite happy with one car for very long...guess it's kind of an ADD thing or something
Anyway, it's a 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution. Here are the mods, then I'll post pics and discuss what's wrong with the car.
60,000 miles
Originally Rally Red, repainted Porsche Vesuvius Metallic
Clean title...I am 3rd owner
Great mechanical condition...no issues there (all issues are strictly cosmetic)
Mods:
- HKS 272 intake/exhaust cams (have stock cams)
- Vishnu adjustable cam gears (have stock cam gears)
- Megan exhaust manifold (have stock manifold)
- Megan 02 housing (have stock housing)
- Megan full exhaust (no cat) (have stock muffler and cat somewhere I think)
- Buschur deluxe FMIC and hard piping
- Crushed 1G Bov (have Blitz DDBOV with flange - flange needs to be welded to pipe and the BOV is missing a small fitting that the vacuum line connects to)
- Walbro fuel pump (have stock fuel pump)
- Vishnu reflash
- Forge MBC set to 21psi
- 5Zigen FNOR1C wheels (bronze, 18x9.5" all around)
- StopTech slotted brake rotors
- DIY Evo VII tails
- Painted emblems
- Perrin short antenna
- AutoMeter Nexus boost and EGT gauge with controller
- Blitz FATT
- Varis wide front fenders and air ducts
Problems/Issues:
*NOTE*
I have to say I have been screwed on car deals in the past, and because of those experiences I have tried my hardest to be 100% honest with the description of problems on cars I am selling. I hate being screwed, and I would never want to do that to someone else. However, I will admit that there may be problems that I am not aware of...not saying there are, because I am pretty sure that I would have noticed them, but you never know I guess...just a little disclaimer.
- The paint...ok, I am a really big detail person, so maybe I blow this more out of proportion than it actually is, but the paint...well, it's just not very good. The car was in a front end collision (sorta...it was backed into by a truck) before I got it, and the owner at that time decided to have the car repainted instead of just having the damaged area painted the original color. I don't think this was a professional job. There are a few rock chips on the front...one large one by the passenger's headlight that shows the original paint underneath and a few smaller ones down by the lip area. The door jams and everything are painted...the underhood area is painted, but the engine wasn't removed so there are some spots that were missed (but are buried in the engine bay). The trunk area was not painted, but the fuel door area was. There are some scratches on the passenger's side from a tree branch, but no dents or rust as far as i can see.
- The headlights: The headlights ARE HID housings, but the HIDs were not there when I got the car. I have been using the foglights (which are just as bright as normal halogen headlights) the entire time I've had the car. I DO have the HID ballasts (OEM Mitsu parts, although they are used) but I have not installed them because I don't have the bulbs yet. The headlights (and the front end it seems) are missing a few bolts that secure them because they seem to bounce when I hit a larger bump. I was going to try to take the front off and find the missing mounting bolts and replace them, but I haven't had time yet. I do also have 2 sets of Nokya yellow fog light bulbs that can be included if wanted.
- The rear floor mats are missing...I never got them.
- The stock CD player doesn't work. The radio works, but it will not play CDs for some reason. I think maybe there is some dust from the repainting inside the CD player, but I'm not sure.
- Turbo noise: This one still has me very confused. I'm not sure if this is an issue or not. The turbo makes a loud whistling noise (not the usual spooling noise) under boost. It kind of sounds like a supercharger. I'm not sure if there is an exhaust leak or if it's just the Megan manifold (started after the manifold was installed). It boosts fine...no problems, very little lag, and no drop-off (which makes me think it's not the turbo)...I've asked around, but nobody can tell me what it might be. I just deal with it LOL.
- Windshield. The windshield is NOT cracked, but there are two scratches from where the metal from a broken windshield wiper slid across it. It is on the driver's side, and I am not sure if it can be fixed or if the whole thing needs to be replaced. Again, I have just lived with it (it was there when I got the car)
PRICE:
KBB says the stock version of this car in good condition with the mileage is $19,300. I'm asking $21,000 (the wheels alone would cost the difference). I am also considering trades for ONLY the following:
- Pontiac GTO (newer style...not the classic car)
- Mustang Cobra (the 03-04 Terminator SVT Cobra)
- Possibly a lesser modified STi
Please PM me with any questions/offers or email me directly at autoeuphoria@gmail.com. Thanks!
