FS (IL): 2006 Evolution IX MR w/3K miles

Still working on engine shots - will definitely get them tomorrow. The engine wasn't moved to the point any motor mounts were broken - or anything like that - once passenger frame rail was straightened - motor relaxed to its correct location.
Yes, I would sell to Canada - US funds of course - you arrange transport. I sold my WS6 to Canada a couple years ago.

Thanks. I am very meticulous when it comes to fixing them (no this is not my first Evo I have fixed nor my last) - I make sure every bolt is the right one from Mitsu and every fastener is used for everything. I try to make the car as good as it was when it left factory.
In Illinois, first you have to be a licensed auto rebuilder with the state. Then the process consists of a Safety Inspection and then a Secretary of State Police Inspection. The first is self-explanatory - the second is to check VIN numbers for stolen parts and such. Then once you pass both tests (have to pass safety before the police) you receive a Rebuilt Title. Only then can the car be driven and registered on public roads. If caught driving a salvage car on the roads - it is a Class A Misdemeanor (read that at inspection site - not sure what that means - but doesn't sound good ) - so I tow car to all inspections.

What's the process of buying from another state, say California. Like what sort of things would I have to do to get it registered?
Also as far as insurances go, will they do full coverage on it. Or will I have to keep it just under liability. (which wont cover the evo in case its my fault) ??
Lastly I take it that banks don't finance salvaged cars...so this car would have to be paid cash???

Now that it is a rebuilt title - I believe you register it just like a clean title car - it will just have a rebuilt title from your state once you register it - but you would want to double check to be absolutely sure on that. That is how it worked when my brother bought a CO rebuilt title car and went to IL DMV and registered it and got a IL rebuilt title back from state.
As far as insurance - I have full coverage insurance on it now through State Farm and it is covered for the full retail value of the car - since it has been fixed.
Not sure if all banks will finance - but I know my Credit Union will finance it - they just need a letter from insurance saying that they will cover it for the full amount (to cover their interest obviously) - that is Baxter Credit Union - I know they have branches in CA and I could give you my loan officer's contact info if you are serious. With the price I am selling at - with good credit - 100% LTV is possible. They have rates as low as 4.74% APR right now (that does include a couple discounts like direct deposit and electronic payment). Not sure what other banks do offer - but I know there are a few that do. I thought someone told me or I ran across that E-Loan and LendingTree might do them.
