2006 Silver IX GSR-SE in CT w/ 45k miles

Hello Everyone,

I'll cut to the chase: Car is in Norwalk, CT. $20k w/ everything on the car and the brand new stuff off the car can be negotiated for if the buyer wants it. At this time I do not want to part out what is on or off the car, I'd love it to all go in one package. We'll see....

I am 32yrs old and I am selling my EVO because I drive it like grandpa and I no longer need it.

I was in a major motorcycle accident in 2007 and when I got out of the hospital I bought the EVO to replace the motorcycle's fun factor. Well, it never quite lived up to the task and as a result I never ended up tracking, launching, or racing the car in any way. I routinely get 23-27mpg with my mixed commute....I'm really not driving this car like it should be in the slightest. I do enjoy taking corners, but that's about it, it seems. I've replaced the EVO with a Honda Fit for DD and a Lotus 7 Replica for the occasional weekend cruise. I no longer need the EVO for "do-it-all" duty.

The clutch, tranny, engine are all stock perform wonderfully. They have never been opened up and my OCD has led me to excessively research every modification on the car. The mods will provide a good base for anyone looking to mod. further or for someone to leave it as is and have some extra acceleration and cornering ability.

I am also an amateur detailer. I own a Porter Cable 7924 Random Orbital Buffer and many Meguir's products. The car was daily driven until 10/5/2010, but the car has never seen an automatic car wash (bad, Bad, BAD!) and though it has a few daily drive nicks here and there, I take pride in the finish (especially the CF spoiler, it's PERFECT!) The car is garaged at work and home. This is the type of stuff I enjoy doing:

No Check Engine Light

Passed CT Emissions on 9/26/2010 w/ the full aftermarket exhaust

Stock Features of the GSR-SE model:
Aluminum Roof (like the MR)
Recaro Alcantara & leather seats w/ red stiching
5-speed manual (beefier than MR's 6-speed)
HID headlights w/ Integrated fog lights (like the MR)
10-spoke forged aluminum BBS wheels (different color than MR)
SE badging on trunk
SE front lip

From: http://www.vorshlag.com/tech_evoweights.php

"As for the various model differences, it appears that all that weight saved by the aluminum bodywork in the MR and MR-SE are offset by the 6-spd transaxle and other options, since the base GSR EVO weighs less. Its very close, so we'll call it a wash. The 6-spd's gearing advantage is nonexistent, so avoid the more costly MR and MR-SE if you are shopping simply for the best performance and class competitiveness in an EVO. The SSL option group adds another 60 pounds to the GSR, and reduces headroom thanks to the sunroof, so this package should also be avoided completely if you are serious about racing. The SE package, however, knocks a solid 32 pounds off of the base GSR models weight, so it is in fact a good option to opt for; basically you get the aluminum roof, hood, and headlights of the MR, with lighter wheels, the lighter 5 speed trans and very nice seats. The best compromise between performance, weight, amenities and ultimately - resale value (like it or not, this aspect cannot be ignored by most buyers)."

On the car:
Cobb cat back exhaust (quietest full 3in exhaust I could find)
Megan 3in downpipe
Megan resonated test pipe (keeps things quiet, but helps flow)
Joe P. Manual Boost Controller
Extreme Turbo Systems (ETS) 3.5in Intercooler
Extreme Turbo Systems (ETS) Lower Intercooler Pipe
EBAY shifter base bushings (improved shifting dramatically)
Speed Source shifter cable bushings (improved shifting dramatically)
New Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec as of 5/20/2010
Girodisc Magic pads (street brake pads)
Camber set to -1.7 front, -1.5 rear.
Whiteline f/r sway bars
GT Worx springs
HD Bilsteins shocks/struts
Innovate LC-1 Wideband controller
Prosport 52mm boost gauge
Autometer 52mm left side steering column pod
Mitsubishi IX SE floor mats (were removed from the car after 1k miles, not shown in the pics, whoops)
(I spent a lot of time researching what was the best suspension componenets for my needs. Maybe your's match mine? https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...stion-two.html)
Amsoil cone air filter
(purchased base off: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...t-results.html
"The car's tune was properly setup and scaled for the old-style Buschur air filter so take those results with a grain of salt. Excluding the Buschur, the Perrin filter showed the highest peak whp which was ~10whp higher than the K&N's which CBRD noted a few months ago (thats the thread that spurred the idea for this filter test). The Amsoil filter was very close on Perrin's heels and considering their claims of being the best filtering air filter and very minimal maintenance (no oil, just blow out with air compressor to clean) it may be a very good choice for a street car.")

Off the car:
Used Stock KYB shocks & SPRINGS W/ 25K on them.
Used Stock EVO IX Enkei Rims with Kumho ECSTA ASX ultra high performance all-seasons (~2 winters left in them)
Used Stock Exhaust
Used Taxtrix cable
Brand New EBAY short shifter
Brand New Hotlaps Motorsports brake duct cooling kit
Brand New Technifit Stainless Steel brake lines
Brand New Hawk HT-10 track brake pads
Brand New Amsoil DOT 4 brake fluid
Brand New Amsoil Bottle Hand Pump (G2039-EA)
Brand New Amsoil 3qt Synthetic Manual Transmission and Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90 API GL-4 (MTG)
Brand New Amsoil 2qt SEVERE GEAR Synthetic Extreme Pressure (EP) Lubricant 75W-90 (SVG)
Brand New StopTech Street Performance brake Pads

Full maintenance log provided on request.

If you have any questions, please let me know. My apologies in advanced for the long winded post. Thanks!

I fly, but don't have the time and don't care to drive 1200 miles. I'll wait it out, I'll keep low balling locals (within 500 miles) till someone prices their car fairly. which is sad considering I have cash ready for the right car. No bank loan or cert'd checks, just green money. All I want is a car with less than 50k on it, CLEAN interior and exterior.... and no, I won't pay extra for mods. If anything they devalue the car.

I can buy an evo X gsr with navi and HIDs for less than some are pricing their 06 ix evos for. Not many around, so I kind of understand pricing them a little high, but come on people get serious
-End Rant

I do wish you good luck on the sale.... and another free bump

Thanks SmikeEvo....but for the record, only licensed doctors and health care professionals have worked on me. SmikeEvo worked on the car a time ago though, and went above and beyond to install the good mods you see listed below. (Much appreciated!)
