I believe the bolts on the cover were tightened to tight from the factory. Hence the crack between the bolts. And I do not have any under shots right now, but if you are seriously interested I could get some for you by next week.

Mine has a slight crack too(not that big). You can only see it when its cold, otherwise when it heats up, its invisible.
I don't think its from over-tightening, because I've never taken mine off before either. I took mine off to see wtf was going on with it and noticed it was quite a squeeze to get the screw to go in the valve cover's threaded hole because it wasn't centered in the hole on the plastic cover...

Man I wish this was around when I bought mine would have loved a few more thousand miles less. GLWS! Whoever buys this is getting as close to a showroom car as u can get!
