REASON FOR SELLING MY BABY:
I've hit a point where I can sacrifice a little car fun for now to pay my house off a lot sooner. This money will go directly towards a major re-fi on my mortgage and I'm absolutely pumped about it. Delaying gratification worked to get the car, I've enjoyed autoxing it, and it's just time for me to let someone else enjoy the car while I enjoy a cheaper house payment

The car has been an absolute blast. I got it for one reason only and that was to autox. In the time I've owned it, it's been one of the most reliable cars I've owned (and I'm a Honda guy!). This May we did the 60k mile maintenance with the t.belt/b.belt and all of those goodies. The transmission fluid is changed before every autox season with AMSOIL and the t.case and rear differential are changed with Diaqueen at the beginning and midway point every season. Oil is changed with Pennzoil Platinum at the beginning and midway point of the season with a Wix/NAPA Gold filter.

I purchased it in the fall of 2006 and it sat in my garage wrecked until spring of 2007 when Jenkins Auto Body of Mapleton, MN fixed it. It went from 40k miles to about 53k miles in 2007 and into 2008 and was the last time I drove it in the winter. It's been garaged in the winter and not daily driven since. Being in Estherville, IA, I'm midway between Sioux Falls and Winona so most of my miles are to and from there for autox events.

The car is far from perfect. As I usually tell people - I don't own an Evo to get laid... I own it for the driving experience. First off, it's a salvage title (heavy hit on drivers side). There are bumps and bruises... carbon fiber hood is cracked from a deer (Brembos saved the car on that one! Knocked the deer on his *** and he got up and laughed at me). Trunk is gutted but I have some parts to go with it. Temperature knob on the HVAC controls is broken but I'm working on that. Clear on the wing is pretty much gone.

I'm a little bit of a detail freak so I'll have it 99% swirl free for the new owner to enjoy.

WHAT YOU GET WITH THE CAR FOR ASKING PRICE:
Stock suspension and MR springs off Bilsteins
Two cans of Diaqueen
Harness
Motive Power Bleeder adapter
VIII Enkeis with 235/40 Nitto NT05s (I use these wheels on my Civic Si but will part with them and tires for asking price)
Big ol box of parts like old rotors/pads, battery and tray, stock air box

I'm taking a big step back in my car life to take a few steps forward in my regular life. The new owner of this car will be getting a fun, reliable autox machine.

Thanks for looking... oh yeah, THE PICS!

That's how it looks now

Winona 2009 - one of the first times autoxing it!

Ripping it up in Sioux Falls earlier this season

And again in Sioux Falls

And just because I'm probably too honest, here's what I got myself into late 2006... 21 years old and I just had to have an Evo but couldn't afford a clean-title one so I went for this and don't really have any regrets at all at the end of the day.

it is a salvage title but let me assure you that this car has been autocrossed and the damage is FULLY repaired. Properly.

Thanks for posting this, Steve. I have 16 posts and I've been a member for a long time, but apparently they don't want me to post in the classifieds, haha.

Please direct any questions you have to me - koolaidesi or schmitz.ian AT gmail dot com

Thanks for looking!

A lot of love put into this car, but not a realistic price considering the salvaged title.

Indeed, a lot of love.

I'm open to offers (PM me a price, even if you're not interested) but $13,000 is the "clean out the garage" price. I can deal.

It's been a great car to me and I love driving it but the thought of being in my early 30s and having no more house payments really sounds sweet

Plus, the seller never wins with salvage cars. I had no intentions on selling it when I got it, of course. But now that I'm looking at this mortgage re-fi, this is probably my most "sellable" asset. I've experienced the fun of owning an Evo. I learned a lot. I'm losing my tail on it but I think it's for the better in the long run.

I have a bone-stock 91 CRX Si, but I don't think I can part with that at all LOL!

Thanks! I wish I could take credit, but the body shop deserves that. I just did the difficult task of finding good parts around the country. I was really impressed at how well it drove after getting it out of the shop. I've been in a few clean-titled Evos as well and mine feels just like theirs - no weird creaks or pops (other than the Perrin 25mm sway bar sometimes making a clunk)
