FS: IN 2003 Evo 8.5

A little history, I bought the car from the Owner of Touge Factory in Chicago. He bought it from the first owner who crashed it. The car has a rebuilt title as a result. First owner was a young kid (parents bought it) - who tried to take an on-ramp a bit too hot. Bent the front aluminum control arm and axle and front right shock. Car was fairly new, so insurance claimed it total loss and gave him a new evo. I would keep this car for many more years to come but I am moving across the country and just would rather not drive it.

I'm looking for 15,000 OBO. I need it gone, but if I can't get something reasonable I'll just keep it and drive it across the country. PM or email is the best way to get a hold of me.

It is a 2003 Evo 8 with nearly everything evo 9 on it, 97k miles and will go up as I daily drive it.

Overview:
97k miles (Entire 60k maintenance + preventative maintenance done)
-Brand new Exedy twin plate clutch at 69k miles ($2000)
-Transmission seals, shims, and bearings replaced at 60k tune up
-Oil changed every 3k, trans, transfer and rear every 9k
-HKS 272 cams w/ ARP headstuds
-Evo 9 turbo with OEM hardlines
-AMS 3.5" FMIC
-Sparktech COP ignition
-Dynoed at a hair less than 360AWHP at 25psi, it runs great and no hiccups
-$2000 stereo system
-Defi gauges and controller
-$2400 compression and rebound adjustable coilovers (Stance)
-Whiteline roll center kit
-AMS shifter bushings and front engine mount
-Brembo blank rotors (ft) and DBA 4000 slotted rears with stainless lines all around

Many more upgrades and preventative maintenance listed below. This car gets tons of looks/compliments, nearly every time I fill up with gas. I baby it and the previous owner did too (24-26 mpg with mostly city driving). It's a great daily driver and I would keep it if I wasn't moving.

- Engine:
HKS 272 cams
ARP Headstuds
Evo 9 OEM Turbo + OEM Hardlines (Evo 9 turbos flow better then evo 8)
Nisei 2.5" Lower intercooler pipe

Yea, I guess I'm not as scared as rebuilt titles as others.

I bought it for quite a bit more than this and put in quite a bit of maintenance on it, but I guess that is the issue when you buy rebuilt. I thought I was going to own it for 10+ years, but decided to move to AZ.

Coming from having a rebuilt title Evo 8 myself...If the car had been properly repaired, there is NOTHING to be worried about! It gives many people an opportunity to own an otherwise much more expensive car at a more affordable price.

This car looks beautiful, im sure it drives the same.

You need at least one picture with a sign next to your car that has your username and the date or this thread will have to get removed.

Please read the marketplace rules for posting your items up for sale. All for sale threads must include the following:
  • FS posts on EVOM MUST INCLUDE:
  • PICTURE OF THE ITEM WITH A SIGN CONTAINING THE DATE AND YOUR EVOM USERNAME
  • Price
  • Accurate description of item and its current condition
  • Location of seller
  • Willingness to ship
  • If applicable VIN number - Transmissions, Shortblocks, body parts which have VIN numbers on them. A picture of your username/date next to the visible VIN number is required. VIN should also be in the FS post in plain text.
Items posted which do not meet the rules will be deleted without notification and repeat offenders will find their marketplace access revoked.

You are required post your description with a picture of the item. That pic must contain something with your username and date along with the item for sale. This requirement must be met at the time of your initial post, you are not allowed to "post pics later".
