If you’re looking for a nice running daily driver EVO with no issues, this is for you! Just tested engine compression with 195psi results! I used this car the way I would every day. I babied it, pushed her hard, cornered, etc. I wanted to make sure the next person will not have issues.
It’s a great running EVO. It’s 98% all stock. I bought it 4-5 months ago with the intentions of using it for my daily driver, but it’s too stock for me and I’m tempted to modify it.
When I got it, it had a slipping clutch, bad ignition coils, needed driver side tie rod, and bad OEM ballast. I have since installed an ACT HDSS clutch (2k miles on it now), and addressed these issues. I upgraded to updated HVAC control cables (common) and replaced the HVAC decals. I had an alarm and remote starter installed. Also, I replaced the nasty shifter boot with a new OEM one.
The car does not have any issues at all, beside the driver’s side door panel creaks and the dashboard squeaks once in a while when you are on a bumpy road.
Engine: 98% stock, runs excellent. Starts up, no problem. Pulls great all the way to redline!
• Compression tests showed 195psi on all cylinders!!!!
• Injen upper intercooler pipe with HKS SSQV blow off valve
• ETS version 1 lower intercooler pipe
• Open element filter
• 3” downpipe (don’t know brand) and high flow cat
• Stock exhaust
• Mishimoto radiator with stock fans
Transmission: Shifts great! Clutch and fluids done 2k miles ago
• ACT HDSS clutch with OEM throw out/release bearing
• Resurfaced OEM flywheel
• MT90 fluid in the tranny and Diaqueen it the T-case
Suspension/Brakes: All stock!!! Just had the driver’s side tie rod replaced and four wheel alignment done
• Stock suspension with only 40k on it. I removed the ones to previous owner had on it.
• 50% meat left on the pads
• It has 15mm or 20mm hub centric spacers all around.
Wheels/tire: All stock!!!
• 90% tread life left on the Firestone all-season tires.
• Wheels have some curb rash on them
Interior: Good condition!
• Drivers and passenger from lower seat bolsters show wear from every day in and out
• Driver’s side suede door trim coming off, just needs to be glued back on
Exterior: Really good shape!
• There is small rust build-up where the spoiler meets the trunk (common in New England). Other than that, there is no rust build up on the exterior of the car at all.
• Rear fenders have been rolled from previous owner. Also, few small dings from use.
• All doors/hood/trunk/bumpers have matching VIN.
• Rally Armor mud guards
