Mitchubishi,

Mesh for the VIII bumper will work with some minor tweaking/bending. The mesh for the I/C opening on the VIII extends pretty far on both sides- all the way through even past where it curves, compared to the VII bumper where it goes almost straight up. So it's wide enough to cover the opening in the VII.

The two rectangular mesh pieces in the bumper in the stock VIII bumper are also wide enough to cover the bumper rectangular openings in the VII, you'll just have to tweak a bit behind to mount them right. Lastly, the square mesh on either side of the I/C opening in the VIII bumper extends past where the opening is curved too at the rear.. So it's also wide enough to cover the opening in the VII.

Basically, filling the openings with the stock mesh is not a big problem for the VII bumper using the VIII mesh. You just have to do some tweaking. Hope this helps.
