a friend of mine said that high output alternators only work well in high RPMs but doesnt solve the problem of dimming and so forth at idle....can anyone advise on this? i would like to get a 180 for my evo because the stock one already sucks and i will be puttin a small system in the next couple weeks. maybe not even 1000w for mids, highs, and sub. someone let me know asap please!

"He says that the alternators output full voltage between 1500 and 2000 RPM with the 180amp unit outputting approx 90amps at idle. The higher output models do so at the expense of lower idle output. I personally would go with the 180 amp model, but that's up to you."
