I have received many pms and I keep receiving the same question from diff people so here we go:

no the coils are NOT leaking fluids

I am NOT a suspension person so your questions about dampening and what not won't really get far because I pretty much have no clue what your talking about

no I have not messed with them because I don't wanna screw around with them(the clicker on top for the settings)

so what makes you think that they are blown? what are the ride symptoms that are making you not like them? are they too stiff, too bouncy? too soft?

I was just assuming they were blown because i've heard people say that if it rides bouncy then they are blown but I'm not sure though, their bouncy and it bugs me end of story.

Coilovers are stiff and you will feel every single bump on the road a lot more. To find out if the struts are blown or not, you will have to press the car down by hand. My friend has blown struts and his car bounces, like shake the rear and the car comes up, then goes back down. His car just doesn't dampen at all. I have coilovers and my car bounces once and since it's still good, it dampens. My car when you press it down, goes down and comes back up and doesn't go back down itself.

Yes, coilovers are the suck on rough road but you get good handling once set right. The knob on top as you explained is the dampening setting so yours is adjustable. turn it all the way counter-clockwise and it's at it softest setting. It will respond to bumps on the road better but you will have more body roll. Turning it clockwise and you get very stiff/hard. Every single bump on the road you will feel and the car will jump up but you get less body roll.

I really don't think your struts are blown but just haven't a clue to what coilovers are. They're mainly for track and auto-X. You might get better times for having a stiff rear in the 1/4 mile.
