A couple years ago I got an ebay harness bar that was 3 solid pieces, no heim joints, etc. I had it powder coated & it looked great. It stiffened the chassis worked with harnesses but was pretty damn heavy & obviously not removeable. When I found out DB was going to make a light weight removeable harness bar I pulled mine out & sold it. I have one of DB's harness bars in my garage right now & should be installing it this weekend, powder coating looks great & I love how light it is & that it's removeable.

Thats an awesome idea, but what kind of R&D went into this?

I was always told the more connection points a harness bar has the more un-reliable it becomes. It gives it room for failure.

I chose the best belt I could find, that is the Schroth. It is one of the only 4 point harnesses approved for road racing and is NASA legal BTW. Yes, they are expensive............goes with what I said above, you pay for quality and innovation.

Summit and Jeg's both sell harnesses for cheap, hell you can probably find some belts made in overseas in a sweat shop on Ebay. For me, the other bars and other belts are not for my own personal car and I don't feel good about offering that stuff either..........and that's why we don't. Point is you can buy cheaper harnesses from other places, you are not required to buy then from us.

Without the harnesses the bar still probably has some effect on the car as far as rigidity or maybe even help the sides of the car in a roll over or side impact BUT the point of the bar is to hold you in the seat.

Exactly my point, I want the best and the best costs.

Just finished paying off the rest of my cars mods. Not going to lie, a fully built motor + new turbo + head + cams isn't cheap. I didn't cheap out on those mods, I won't cheap out on a harness bar / seat belts either.

I'd rather buy the American made stuff anyway (funny yes because our cars are Japanese, but I try to buy American built parts for it).

David runs it in his own car, I'm not worried.

Should I put you down for confirm then?

FYI, we won't be charged for at least a couple weeks, I'm assuming depending on how this rolls out. If we try to get 10 its gonna take probably a few weeks to get the confirmations in, so keep that in mind as well.

Not sure if I missed it but does this come with the belts or is it only for the bar? If not how much and does someone have a link to the belts? Thanks

Just bars

You can get any belt you want for this (I believe). I personally will be going with the Schroths on the BR website once I have the money to do so. One at a time, going with what's in limited production.

I'm Interested. I was looking at the Sparco bar since the shop here locally makes them. However it isn't removable. Let me know if it's goigng to happen.

Thanks,
