WTB: Can any vendor get this? CUSTOM CAGE from UK?
http://www.customcages.co.uk/Rollcag...ype=2006%20Int
I met a guy who drives Rally cars at the HIN Charlotte show who told me about these cages.
I can try to order myself, but checking to see if any vendor already has ties and can make the process easier.
Thanks in advance

Shipping is expensive but still comes out cheaper than most top shops want for custom cages...
Not every cage builder is familiar with the Evo
Plus with this I can get any pro welding shop to install...
Cuts down on man hours with them trying to figure it out...
and save me from traveling 6-10 hours just to get a cage installed.

What do you mean make it and ship it out? How do you plan to ship out an entire cage further more put it in the car. I'm sure they can send you all of the piping, but someone will need to weld them together. Those cages must be welded in by someone experienced in that type of construction/fabrication.

I talked to the company Custom Cages...they will ship it to me no problem...
but so I dont have to transport it....I will probably have it shipped to StevensonMotorsports (www.StevenMotorsprts.com) they were going to build the cage for me as long as it doesnt take up too much of their man hours.
Since its cheaper to order from the UK (only 1700 for all parts shipped) vice having a shop custom build (most shops quoted $3200)... I'll order from the UK

No way your gonna buy a cage from the UK, ship it, and have a cage builder install it for less than just having the same cage guy build one and install it. There is no familar with evo advantage. A cage builder is a cage builder. He will still have to do all the welding, etc.
Then you need to see if its legal strength, thickness, etc to certify it... I'm sorry, but I wouldn't even consider that an option....
And it is only FIA approved so no drag racing with it either. Not sure what your planning on doing with it, but it will be forbidden on any NHRA track if you decided to do some drag racing... I'm guessing you are doing rally or road racing by the selection of cage. But you still need to verify its legality here in the US.
It is a very nice looking cage though...

call andrew havas...
www.havspeed.com
he sells and installs several of these a year... good guy, good work...
his shop is in newburgh, ny, not too bad a drive from dc/md
-franz
ps. make sure you check with sanctioning body you are planning on running with to make sure cage is legal... the T45 cages will most likely not be legal if sanctioning body does not use FIA cage material rules (or adopt)... also, if you do the T45, make sure you have someone experienced with welding that material do the work.

Call Piper Motorsports. They build awesome cages for an affordable price. They are legal cages as well. Your only fooling yourself if you think going with that UK cage is going to be cheaper than having someone in the US build you one.
