Feeler: IX AMS Race Head w Cosworth M2's (journals scored)
I've got an Evo IX AMS Race Head (not the CNC version) with Cosworth M2 cams that I'm thinking about selling. Head comes with complete valvetrain, dual springs (Supertech I beleive), rockers, & lifters. The head & cam combo came out of a perfecty running car as is. I wanted to swap in my FP4R cams & when I did I noticed that there was scoring on the cam journals & bearing surface. All the cam lobes & rockers are in great shape (no scoring). I was going to just pull the head & take it to a machine shop to see if they can polish the bearing surfaces, but now I'm thinking that I may rather sell the setup. Since the head is not in perfect shape I have no idea what it's worth the way it is. If you are interested shoot me an offer & I'll let you know. I'm open to offers including a stock head (Evo IX) or offers without a core. I'm posting pics of the parts with the worst scoring on them, but I can get as many pics of whatever you want if interested.

interested in the head....now aside from the cams....PM me price on this head shipped to NYC 11361 minus the cams ( sell it on your own )....anything wrong with the head ??? is it ported and polished ? Pm me

There were no issues with the car while this head & cams set was in it. I would have not known there was anything going on if I hadn't decided to swap the cams.
It is the AMS ported Race head. There is scoring on the cam journals as silvermax stated. Not too interested in splitting them up unless it seems worth it. As I've stated I don't have any idea what it's worth so I 'm not gonna put up a price. If I get a decent offre then I'll sell it, but If not I'll take it to the machine shop & put it in the car.

If I was to buy this and take this to machine shop, all I have to do is swap the cams with possibly GSC S2 cams and we're good to go ? Anything else needs attention ?

Not sure. Possibly not cleaned well after porting was done. or improper break in. There's no way to say for sure. I think I'm gonna just take it to a machine shop to see if it can be repaired.
